Most of the "safety" features (including pre-collision system, lane departure alert, road sign assist, driver break suggestion, BSM, rear cross traffic alert, safe exit assist) can be turned OFF in the user settings.

See details starting at page 371 in the owner’s manual.
I was going to set it off by default, but it's very unclear. The customization says you can change it in the gauge cluster, but no instructions on how to get there.

Page 114 in the manual says you should "refer to the “MULTIMEDIA OWNER'S MANUAL”.

Whatever that is.

I assume it comes with the car, I don't see it online. But maybe the hatchback multimedia manual is similar.

the beeper was turned off by the dealer before I got it (or maybe that's the default setting). the steering feedback when I do my BMW owners impression during lane changes is not obtrusive, it's like a gentle nudge hinting at me... stay in your lane bro.

in a Subaru, there's no option, it is going to beep aggressively, and the steering is trying to fight you, you have to really want to change lanes without your blinker.

this is nothing like that, not aggressive at all, but still not something I want on by default.

There is a multimedia manual, it doesn't have anything regarding the driver assist stuff. At least not that I found.
Hey, there should be a number on that manual, something similar to OM12P76U.

Post that number if you see it, so I can search more to see it it's online anywhere.

here it is:

and to confirm, long holding the lane assist button doesn't get me into any extra settings. I also tried long pressing the other buttons associated with the driver safety stuff. nothing. so that link I referenced above isn't the answer.

to confirm, there's a lane keep assist button. you can turn it on and off, and between engine off/on cycles this stays in memory. the thing is 'off' isn't off, it does give you a mild feedback when you change lanes without a turn signal. so even if it says off, it's still only a mild off.

I'll prefer to have it off all the way, unless I want it to turn on. maybe this is this mild off is as far off as you can make it?

I can't find that manual online, but Helms says they have it in stock. I think I'll just wait for my car lol.

From skimming the hatchback multimedia manual, it looks like you have to set up driver's profiles, and then each driver can save their personal settings.

Maybe.

The car manual?
I'm going to be trying this...

That's not even for our cars lol

Just go into settings and turn it off. It stays all the way off once turned off. There is no minor feedback when turned off. At least with mine there isn't. If you download the Toyota app and link your grc to it all the manuals for the car are accessible through the app fyi

@Trapper yep, it wasn't for our cars, but it was for a Toyota, I presumed it might be generic enough a setting that it was ubiquitous across Toyota, but no dice.

and yes, I agree with you, the manual says it's as simple as opening the settings and turning it off all the way, but I haven't found the setting where I can do that. I went to the relevant pages in the physical manual yesterday and found nothing of use. I don't think the PDF document is going to provide anything different.

if you have done it in yours, if you don't mind being a bit more detailed about which settings area to go to, and how to access, that would be awesome.

Left side of the steering wheel the main center switch. Use that and press down to cycle through the menu until you see setting then prs the ok button in nf hold it and that takes you to the settings menu. Then find the setting you want to turn off and long press ok again with that setting highlighted to open the sub menu settings for what you want and from there you can turn it on or off

excellent thank you very much! and congrats on the car.
I didn't realize that settings area was also for the safety stuff, I only dug deep enough to set it up where I had access to triple gauges on one side, and boost on the other.
