OK - finally got around to a test fit confirming front brake caliper and dust shield clearance. The provided lug nuts from Braid have 8-9 turns of thread engagement. Stock lug nuts will not work.

Nokian Hakkapeliitta tires enroute to be mounted. Apologies for the images, moved to a new house and the garage (and lighting) are not unpacked.

'23 GRC core, zero modifications. Braid Fullrace A 17x8 E30 fresh out of the box!

SSR Type C 17x9 +35 fits. The wheel weights need to be as close to the outside as possible but definitely doable.
The same wheel in 17x8 +35 does not fit, the barrel narrows near the spokes and it touches the caliper. I think a 17x8 +30 might fit.

Non-performance related - 17 inch RAV4 steelies won't fit. Diameter is OK in the center, but the profile narrows too much near the outside of the barrel.
Can you clarify if it's the late 2018ish 17" rav4 steel wheels or the earlier 426110r020sw from like 2012ish? Also there's the 426110r090sw that looks like there's more caliper clearance

I do not know what year they were. A guy was selling them locally so I went with a handy template and checked them out - no fit.

that looks hot.

braid site says the 17x8 is 19.2 lbs.

Looks good, what are the specs on those Braids? Did you purchase direct?
I spoke with Braid Wheel USA outfit and eventually purchased through Kelly Moss Road & Race (racing outfit). Ordered in the summer to get in on a pricing deal from Braid and free shipping to USA.

FYI Tire Rack now shows several 17" options. Most are 9" wide.

I might get a set of 17's for rallycross and winter use- I think my ideal preference would be 17x8, with 225/50-17 tires, a tiny bit taller than our stock tires. (With 9" wheels, probably have to do 235/45 or 245/45 tires.)

The only 17x8 they show are some heavy and hideous Black Rhino Arches.

Did you end up buying a rally set of wheels and tires, if so would you mind sharing thanks

Nope I ended up putting RE71RS on the stock wheels and 18" DWS 06+ on silver Enkei TS10 wheels (for normal driving).

Hey guys! Happy to join lol

Any pics with 17x8.5 +30 Sparco FF1? Thinking hard between these in black on Michelin x-ice or Sparco Terra in gold in 235/40/18 for my GR Circuit.

Braid Fullrace A 17x8 E30, stock spacers and Braid provided lug nuts (~9 full turns of engagement). On Nokian Hakkapeliitta R5 235/45/R17

was the +30 off the shelf spec? or did you request that? an outfitter has the full race 17x8 -5 to +55
i also have a black core, what color is that? do the wheels take mag or conical lugs? thats nice they provided lugs for you :D

Everything from Braid is made to order unless a vendor has done a batch purchase themselves. I requested a stock offset to keep the same OEM fitment and spacers (too many modified cars, leaving this alone for now). Braid terms the color 'dark grey' and it accepts conical lug nuts. Given the short OEM studs you need something with a shank on it to protrude into the wheel and achieve sufficient thread engagement. To my knowledge Braid includes lug nuts with all wheel orders, may not work with every offset/stud/etc configuration.
