Only $24k? I was expecting the minimum to be around $30k due to its recent hype. Maybe the damaged suspension deterred others due to the current lack of OEM parts. Curious how much a GRC with water damage would go for

Yeah, seemed kinda low considering the miles and the fact suspension parts should become available soon-ish. Very curious to see how low the others with actual body damage go, my pipe dream of buying one as a donor may not be as crazy as I originally thought.

I too was surprised how low it sold for. If I didn't have mine, I probably would've snagged it up at that price, knowing I could fix it and have a cheap GRC. Oh well.

Many of the exterior pieces excluding the bumpers and rear doors can be substituted with parts from the regular Corolla hatch. The main issue is how much the front has caved in. Also the roof.
No doubt the block is cracked or at least deformed judging by the pictures. Would be amazed if it isn't
Also finding all the GRC exclusive parts would mean much waiting and repair costs almost the equivalent of what this car was worth when it was in one piece.

Here we got either a project car in its first phase or a future part-out

I was thinking about this on the way home. Only reason I'd get this is for the long block and harness, but not worth risking the likely damage to the block. Only hope is the plastic intake took all the damage and didn't harm the block?

Yes, it sucks to crash due to stupidity (on your 206 mile old car lol), but I'm glad it looks like the driver would've made it out okay if buckled in. Makes me feel better about the safety of the car if something happens.
