Not sure where to post this since we should have an area for this. Not all of us JUST daily our cars haha.
Went to the first test and tune of the season with the GRC. 1300 miles and no seat time.

good news is I ran the car for 2+ hours (10 passes) no cool down time in between runs unless it was sitting in the lanes waiting to go again and no open hood etc and ZERO overheat rear dif warnings.
Ran a multitude of crap times in the 14s and ended up scraping a 13.9 at 101.35mph.

lots of room for improvement with the launch and I’m trying to play with the modes to figure out where I want to be. Clutch definitely needs to be slipped or the car bogs like ffffffff.
mess running in expert mode till someone on Facebook said it still leaves some tc babies on so we will see how that goes with more seat time.

This may be a dumb question but is a 13.9 good?

For comparison sake, when my 2016 Focus RS was stock I ran [email protected]

I believe it was motortrend got a 13.7. This is my first time with the car on a strip and completely stock. I’m just shooting to base line

not really

this car wasn't really designed with that in mind, though

with some ez mods, you'll probably hit low-mid 12's all day

Driving curve aside, this thing is only trapping 101mph, and you had a really good conditions (I looked it up, weather in the 60s and 670 foot elevation). I'm really disappointed by that. Sure, you could make up some ET in a 60' improvement but your MPH is telling me all I need to know.
This isn't what I care about at all with my GRC. The car handles so well it's meant for twisty roads, not a drag strip.

Well magazines are only trapping 103 so I’m not sure what you expected. This isnt going to trap 110+ completely stock

A car can be made to do whatever the person wants. Ekanoo and motive do it with the Yaris šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

As mentioned in post 6, C&D trapped 105. They tested the car in the summer (can't imagine the conditions could have been better than what you had). So to answer your question, that's what I expected. The car to be somewhat consistent.

Well not really sure what you’re looking for, šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø first time launching the car at the drags. Improvement will happen and I’m not a professional driver nor did I have hours with the car on track prior to doing a run (which C&D did)

you’re more than welcome to go best my time. I’m not here to swing dicks with someone. I went to get baseline times and as I modify and get seat time i will be able to see improvements.

I'm not swinging dicks. My issue is disappointed in the real-world performance of this car.

As I said in my first post. Driver improvements will help ET but not really your MPH. I'm not digging at you. I'm bummed this car isn't putting down the figures it's claimed to have. It simply doesn't accelerate as quickly as it should for being 300hp and weighing 3200lbs.

I wasn't Intending to offend.

fair enough I apologize for getting snarky. I fully know that the car isn’t a drag racing car and without SIGNIFICANT money invested it’s not going to be anything crazy in the 1/4mi however different strokes for different folks And I have access to both NCM race track and the drag so I figured I’d like to work on both. Plus I want to see how as parts are added how it impacts everything. I will say the cooling system on the GRC is quite impressive. Sitting at the staging lanes coolant temps would climb to 203 but by the end of a pass would have dropped back to 185.

Yes it can, but making it something different from what it was made to do is completely different. I never stated that it couldn't be modded to be faster and a good drag car.
The GR Yaris does 12.6 consistently. Didn't think the GR Corolla would be so much slower.

~450lbs is contributing to that

A few more HP will solve that issue. Luckily the fun in the canyons and twisties is unchanged.
