I think what folks mean is that the sound stage in the car is very forward, like music was being played from the windshield. I certainly can't hear the back speakers at all unless I tweak the balance. And then it just sounds muddy to me.
Muddy! Perfect description. Just sounds like the rear speakers are fill ins to balance the sound. But the fronts are doing all the work. I can hear the rears fine if the volume is up.

It’s because sheetmetal has become thinner and thinner to reduce weight, and aluminum hoods are particularly subject to denting from pressing on them. For example, my NSX manual clearly says you should drop the hood to close it.

The tech inspectors are just being careful.

I also tried the gentle close method and felt like I was going to dent the hood from pressing on it. I had thought maybe my hood stoppers weren't adjusted properly or something, glad to know it's not just me with the struggle. Raising it up about 2 feet and giving it a little extra speed with my pinky and ring fingers seems to work.

Honestly, mine shuts so easily and consistently that I'm surprised some are having a problem. Perhaps the ones that don't shut well have a body alignment issue? I can drop mine from the center at a height of about 1 ft, and it still seems like that's more than necessary.

I forgot how much I hate a small gas tank, thing thing is tiny.
I went from filling up every other week with my old car to filling up every week and sometimes mid-week if I take a trip out of town. The car says I'm getting 30mpg average, but the tank is so tiny that it doesn't matter.

Spacing between the gas and brake pedal is terrible for a car that's supposed to be geared toward spicy driving.
It may be cheesy but the pedals can bent to reduce the gaps. I'm sure EVERYONE will have a negative response to this. Thankfully our gas pedal arm is metal and not composite like most new cars. I'd suggest removing the pedals and possibly using a vice to prevent damage.

this is a good cheap, simple idea actually.

of course, if the gas pedal arm is cast metal, I would advise not doing this, manipulating cast metal will probably result in cracks (whether seen or not).

you also should stick to adjusting the gas pedal, and not the brake pedal. I can't imagine ever applying enough force to a gas pedal to ever break it, even if the metal is a bit weaker because you manipulated the structure, but in a panic situation, I might try to push that brake pedal through the floor.

The cusco gr yaris pedal fits perfectly with the gr corolla and definitely makes heel-toe much easier.

The gas tank is a new minor complaint ... or maybe just realization for me. Wow it's tiny lol, even getting 26mpg average it runs down SO fast. I feel like I'm on a motorcycle again.

I tried some heel/toe today and that's impossible, the pedals are crazy far away. I don't care though and won't be trying to fix it, I like the IMT, it works darn near flawlessly.

Everybody talks about the hood but am I the only one who thinks that the hatch is the real PITA to close? It dampens the drop and wouldn't latch unless I slam it down like a angry 3-year-old who doesn't get enough attention. Having to do this over and over in the parking lot is very embarrassing.

You're preaching to the choir my friend, I already mentioned that I hate having to drop it so high and hard in order for it to latch.
I like that it's lightweight and aluminum, just difficult to close without slamming it down.

I usually struggle to find a place to put my hand or finger tips when closing it. I don't like smudges or clean spots (if the hatch is real dirty)
I usually choose between just under the backup cam or just above the emblem. I use my thumb

I think our hatch is plastic. Or uses a plastic skeleton. Toyota has been using plastic or a carbon/fiber plastic on newer vehicles for weight savings. I've noticed the carbon/fiber plastic panels I've seen are on Prime vehicles

Huh? There are two hand holes inside the hatch for you to use to bring it down. Just shove some fingers in there and pull it down, all while sliding your hand out of the way so it doesn't get slammed too.

Savage! I use the hand holds till I'm eye level or so with the hatch glass. I then use my thumb to close it the rest of the way. I'm odd. I also close my doors with my fingers on the far edge of the dew wipes. I hate prints on the pillars or glass.

You were talking about the hood, I was talking about the rear hatch. The hatch is plastic, which is even lighter, so the struts over-dampen them at the end of travel, making it difficult to close.
