'21 Civic Type R ($38k), LSD standard +, FWD only -
'22 Golf GTI ($29k - $38k, $35k SE is closest), LSD standard +, FWD only -, brakes unsure
'22 Golf R ($45k), LSD standard +, AWD standard =, a lot of extra equipment not available on GR C +
'22 WRX ($29k - $42k, $36k limited is closest), moonroof +, open diffs -, small brakes -, uggggo - (j/k)
'21 STI ($38k - $42k, $42k limited is closest), LSD standard +, moonroof +, safety tech =

Based on that, I think that the Core will start at $37k, performance package with options right at $40k, and Circuit at $42k.

I pretty much nailed it. haha

Half the articles are saying $36,995 for Core and $43,900 for Circuit. The other half are saying $35,995 and $42,900. Heck I saw one that says $36,995 and $42,900. What's with all the price confusion? Did they not hand them the pricing directly??? lol
I am betting that the articles that say 36.9 are the ones that are including delivery fee, and 35.9 is without

Hey I know some people are disappointed, but they actually priced it well in my opinion.

The Morizo is one where people are freaking out the most but then again 200 units a year. That’s a guaranteed collectors car.

Honestly she's better than most online journalists. The bar isn't exactly high these days. At least she escaped the cesspool known as Jalopnik.
Don't want to get too off-topic on this thread, but ever since I saw that shockingly out of touch and condescending Jalopnik article where she proclaimed driving shoes are for posers and that she drives in designer heels, I just couldn't take her seriously.

At least this Core release date mistake was corrected quickly. Minor mistakes in information can be forgiven, but toxicity and click bait, I just don't have time for.

Yea, I think the pricing is fair based on the market in which it competes. People thinking $32k were dreaming the moment it became clear that we weren't getting the 260hp version of this engine. I think there is definitely a market for that engine and FWD, TBH, at $28-32k. I'd even be interested in that. Ultimately depends on how the GR sells, though.

I think my odds of getting a CE just improved dramatically, though. Lots of people aren't going to be able to stomach that for "just a corolla".

Jalopnik definitely got pretty cringey but it seems like you may have encountered her satirical alter-ego "fancy Kristen" and taken it seriously.

Lost the little respect I had for this dude. States pricing of $37k, $44k, and $51k are NOT including destination fees. He also mis- correctly states that the core has different brakes than the other 2 trims, when in fact they are the same just not painted red like the CE/ME. Glad I unsub'd from his lame ass. He also goes on to state how he "turned" down the opportunity to go drive the GRC, as if he had better things to do... Oh yea, he has to go test drive and review the latest soccer mom EV. LMAO, dude is a 🤡
