Good afternoon folks, I'm in the market for some parts as I catch them on sale which will be used on a '25 GR Premium. Long time RPF1 user here and the 17x9 +22 looks about perfect for this vehicle. Willtheyfit.com appears to coorborate everything but caliper clearance. I see this wheel mentioned in this thread but nothing appears definitive or photos.

Tire would most likely be a 235/45 or 245/40

Does anyone have firsthand experience with this setup?

Thanks and cheers!

Dave

That was my thought too, and I'm also Dave lol.... I reached out to a vendor and they responded but never bothered to follow up even after I reached back out. I have several sets of 17x8 and 17x9 with two different center clearances. I feel like it should fit but like you want to know first. If they do fit, then they will also work on my LS400 :)

for what it's worth, Fitment Industries has verified with Enkei that the 17x9 +22 will fit the GR and wrote as much into my sales order with the 245/45's.

my plan will to run these wheels with stock spacer set-up so the net will be a +8 all the way around.

please update when you get them, I was bummed when everyone said the 17" RPF1 wouldn't work, I've wanted a set forever.

Will do. It's only a commitment from the vendor at this point and they noted it on the invoice so if there's a concern there is a history.

Great, thanks.. they were the ones who were supposed to get back to me and never did.

You are going to need studs too ya?

Sparco FF1 17 with Continental 245/45/17 tires arrived today from Tirerack. Unfortunately, it looks like the lug nuts Tirerack sent are not gonna work.

I called their support and they want pictures and stuff. They couldn't answer the question of "Are these safe to use? Was I sent the wrong lug nuts?" etc. I guess the folks who would know aren't working over the weekend.

Not a lugnut issue. With a little search you will see the studs are too short for aftermarket wheels and you will need longer studs, though Tire Rack should know this by now. Get ARP ones - best you can get. PS, wheels look good, though not that different than the stockers seems like. What's the total wheel/tire weight difference?

I've read the extended stud threads to death. My understanding is that if your aftermarket wheels work with ET lug nuts, that should get you enough turns for mounting to be safe. Folks who bought 17" Konigs from tirerack apparently got ET lugs with their wheels. Since I've been buying from tirerack for years, I assumed they'd know their stuff as far as this goes.

The response I got for now was "hold off on install until we talk to our engineering department."

Thanks! Yeah the wheels look pretty good! Similar to stock, but less spokes to deal with cleaning. And I like a little more rubber!

I haven't compared weight yet. I will once I find out if these work with ET lug nuts and/or hear back from tirerack.

If Apex is thinking a 'perfect' fitment of a stock +30 wheel is with a 20mm spacer f&r, is a Weds Sport 17x9 +10 wheel somethiing to consider without the additional spacer?

Following up my previous post, I got the Sparco Ff1 17x8.5 +30 installed on the car today.

Here's the story (I'll bold the important bits):

Tirerack sends regular 60 degree conical nuts with the wheels.

I call them to ask if those are safe/etc. and if they sent me the wrong nuts by mistake.

The lady on the phone was nice but could not help me. She referred me to the engineering department and had me send my VIN and pics of the lug nuts they sent.

Four days later, i was too impatient to wait for a reply from tirerack (after emailing and calling again), so I ordered these gorilla nuts:

The nuts showed up today, and tirerack sent a very uninformative email saying they shipped me some new nuts. Great. Those have not come in yet, but I'm curious what type they are.

I measured the lug holes in the Sparcos at 0.62" with calipers.

I measured the width of the shank on the ET Gorilla nuts at 0.60" with calipers.

I bolted them on today with the Gorilla nuts, and they fit like a dream.

My super scientific bathroom scale says the Sparcos with tires (245/45ZR-17 Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus) inflated to 35PSI weigh 43.8lbs.

The stock core wheels with stock tires inflated to 35PSI registered 44.0lbs then 43.8lbs after another try.

My conclusion is the weight difference is basically zero.

With those nuts, I got about 10 turns by finger tightening before torquing them down.

Anyway, here are a few pics:

I'm looking forward to an accurate speedo and possibly suppler ride. I know handling will probably suffer a bit.

Konig Heliogram 17x9 +25.

similar story as above, but 45lbs with 245/45 17 tires mounted.

11 turns on the ET nuts that tire rack sent.

just took it around the block and found a nice Houston pot hole, they'll do nicely.

I'm in the gang now. Apex SM10RS 17x8.5. 245/45 Pilot Sport 5 tires. Extended shank lug nuts are getting me 10+ turns of engagement with the stock studs. These pictures have the Apex center cap, but the Supra center caps fit and I put them on last weekend, they look great. Thanks Matt from Apex for answering all my questions!

Looks really great, thanks for sharing. I've got the same set-up in my garage awaiting a '25 Core.

Are you on the stock spacer set-up?

Yup, stock spacers. I think the next time I get tires I'd go 255 because I like a meatier fitment, but overall I'm so pleased with the setup. I think you'll really like it!
