Just out of curiosity. Also with some concern of Toyota's reliability with its GRC's clutch.

Are you talking about launching or just normal driving? Shouldn't need to Rev the engine to get moving in normal driving unless you are on a really steep hill. The car has hill hold assist so it wont roll back for a few seconds. You may need to rev a little to keep it from stalling but not much.

If you are on flat ground smoothly releasing the clutch pedal in first is enough to you moving without using any throttle. Good way to get a feel for the friction point. I will usually add throttle gradually as the clutch pedal is being released to get moving in normal traffic but I'm not increasing the revs before the clutch starts to bite.

This car does take a little getting used to but if you are rev'ing up every time you're in first you will be hurting the clutch and your pitch mount, the later of which might be the least durable part on our cars.

I meant for day to day, average driving. I typically go to 1.5k but maybe even that is little much, unnecessary. I do find the car a little hard to get going at any decent rate if I go below 1.5k, but maybe I need more practice with the car. Only have 400ish miles on it still.

Is this a poll coming from someone who has driven manuels for 15 years
Damn, you need to give Manuel a break!

Of course we know you meant manual transmission.

Less then 1.5k
Also, what the hell, might as well go for both. The vote for "less then 1.5k" is the exact same answer as "1.5k". Because it means "below 1.5k, THEN you rev to 1.5" before engaging. I think you meant "less than 1.5k".
