Tokyo's build thread...

Figured it was time to start a build thread as I just took delivery of my Heavy Metal Circuit Edition this week. My plans for the car are to take it on some local twisty roads and the occasional track days. Won't be my DD.
With that being said, the ultimate goal is to push about 450hp or so, which should be easily attainable on the stock block following Motive Garage's recipe. For the time being, I'm just gonna throw some tasteful mods on it. Currently shopping around for some PPF and ceramic coating quotes, as the car won't be driven until I get those protections.
I have ordered the following few little tidbits to get the "build" started:

Magnetic oil and transmission drain plugs
Rear bumper LEDS to replace the rear bumper reflectors
LED license plate bulbs (because apparently those are the only lights that aren't LED)
2'x5' of gloss twill carbon vinyl wrap (to wrap all the piano black interior parts)
Dark smoke overlays for the front amber reflectors and for the rear clear sections of the taillights
Valientes custom rear spoiler
Dark smoke sequential turn signals to replace the OEM clear non sequential turn signals
Rokblokz splash guards
Swift Lowering springs
Various GRMods exterior forged carbon pieces

I did have some clear PPF car door bowl scratch protectors that I bought for my Lexus and never used, and they fit the GRC perfectly. Also gave her a good bath because it was delivered on a rainy day.
A few weeks back I also picked up the future new wheel setup (once I get some tires and coilovers/springs), 18x9.5 +22 Volk RE30's in pressed graphite. I believe when they were still available, they were the lightest wheel Ray's made, even lighter than the TE37 and the CE28N. Should shed around 20lbs or so of rotating mass when compared with the stock wheels.

Not really an update, but got my plates in the mail finally and a carbon fiber license plate holder I picked up off eBay. Just popped up in my ebay feed, and I was like "that's dope, let me buy it now.." LoL fucking impulse buys...🤣
Edited out my plate number cause I know there are some low key stalkers up in here... 👀

how much weight does this save?

Shit, there are no updates really. Just been gathering parts here and there, but nothing substantial. These damn swift springs keep getting delayed, so that's part of the delay. Want to just take a full day to install all the parts vs installing some parts here and some parts there. Also waiting on my order of forged carbon exterior parts from the GRMODS group buy, those have been constantly delayed as well. Seems like the norm with this car as it relates to aftermarket parts... Pretty annoying to be honest.

Not much of an update, just received my 35mm extended lugs for the fronts when i swap the volks on, and also the SPC camber bolts for the GRC.
I wanted the 40mm extended studs, but they were out of stock. I was reassured that the 35mm ones would give me enough lug nut turns for the front, as they are just a tad shorter than the stock rear studs.

Pulled the trigger on a complete Forge motorsports intake kit. I like how it retains the stock lower airbox, and the inlet duct channels air into the bottom of the stock airbox that opens up under full throttle. So instead if picking up hot engine bay air under full throttle, it picks up the cold outside air being fed from the inlet duct.

Some more goodies showed up today. Toms kick panel protectors with red stitching and project Kics R40 Iconix lug nuts...
Also got confirmation that the swift springs are finally getting sent out from swift HQ to Limit+1 HQ, and then will get shipped out from limit+1 HQ to my house. So expect those to show up my next week.
Will finally be able to lower this damn thing and more importantly get those Volk wheels on! 😁

So had a local shop mix up some HM paint for me in a spray can. Want to paint match my mirror caps and spoiler end plates. Sprayed a test sample to compare and see how well it matches. I think it matches really well. Gonna test spray one of the mirror capa first before i tackle the spoiler end plates, as the mirror caps are easier to replace if Im not satisfied with the paint match.

** Yes I know my car needs a wash, planning on washing it tomorrow.

2nd shipment from GRMods arrived today! Small box, but contains the gloss twill fender vents, bumper inlets, and window triangles.
Only part yet to receive is the spoiler blade, but those arent even finished yet.
The exterior is coming together quite nicely. All thats left after the spoiler blade gets here is a lip kit, which I plan on ordering really soon. Swift springs should be here this week as well, according to limit+1, so hopefully ill be able to install those and my Volks this weekend. 🤞🏼

Pulled all the piano black interior trim to get wrapped in a gloss twill carbon fiber pattern. Been meaning to do this for awhile now, but just never got around to it. Pretty straight forward removal with the center console portion being a bit stubborn.
Will be attempting to wrap it myself, as ive wrapped a few things before in the past with good results.
Probably gonna pull off the trim around the steering wheel switches and wrap that as well.
Also finishing up with the Heavy Metal paint matched mirror caps, just laying down the clear as we speak. Ill get the pics of the finished mirror caps installed here in a bit.
