I’m so sick and tired of seeing people post misinformation that the Morizo is a 1 year only production. That is completely false.
towards the end of the video Mike Tripp states the Morizo will be made past the 2023 MY.

Not unless they came to within msrp figures. It’s just my dog and I so I don’t have kids. I like the Geist of one but this was mainly because I’m tired of seeing people spewing that it’s a single year production only trim

Moreover, some Morizo features (like the additional torque) are rumored to be "trickling down" to other models in subsequent model years, so in some ways the 2023 Morizo may end up being one of the "least desirable" of the limited editions, if collecting/reselling is part of the appeal/rationale behind purchasing one.

@Cptnslo thanks for providing that. it kept coming up as rote, but it seemed more lore than actually being something that Toyota ever stated, so it's good to see where they actually state that as the plan.

although in this same video he also 'committed' to the Circuit only being a launch year only car, but it clearly now is planned to be produced into next year based on a more recent marketing press release.

it's good to know that this is officially the plan.

the thing is, a lot of people are saying with 100% certainty that this will be a thing. well, I guess that's true, right up until Toyota sends out a press release sharing that they have changed their mind.

so while I won't ask whoever says it to cite a reference where Toyota plans to make the Morizo for more than just 2023, I will interject when I see someone saying it as if it is fact, rather than a plan that Toyota can change at any time for whatever reason.

This is a meangingless statement. Toyota could put out a press release saying they changed their mind and now they're going to be making 4000 Morizo editions next year. Toyota could also put out a press release saying that they have cancelled production of all GR Corollas and GR Yaris because they're coverting the Motomachi plants to make a new Sport Utility Truck. Nothing is guaranteed, especially with a new CEO at the helm, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't act as if these Morizos are the last ones showing up at US Toyota dealerships.

I think the video clip saying they will make Morizo editions past MY2023 is like a dealer saying we will sell at MSRP, but not give it you in writing. Once it's in writing, more likely it will happen.

They have put in writing that there will be a 2024 Circuit Edition.

but no where in writing that there will be a 2024 Morizo edition. Therefore, I will take the video with a grain of salt until a Toyota press release comes out saying 2024 Morizo edition in production.

If you go to tirerack.com you can look up the GR Corolla to find tire sizes. Once you select the GR Corolla, there's a dropdown that asks for OEM tire size and it lists both 235/40/18 (Core and Circuit size) as well as 245/40/18 (Morizo size). I'm pretty certain there will be a Morizo in 2024 unless Toyota decides otherwise last minute

Now-discontinued according to motorjuan 😬
Edit: oh thank God. Our already unicorn is safe. This article is just poor journalism. It would make sense toyota would announce it themselves.

So much misinformation in that article. New forged CF roof and new larger rear spoiler... LMAO both are carry overs.. also falsely claims the MSRP for the 2023 CE was $36k.. straight 🤡
Wouldn't believe the news about the Morizo being discontinued either.

The USA was fortunate in getting what they say was 200 cars. It was painful enough here in the USA to obtain one. Other countries were not as fortunate and received smaller quantities , other places had lotto drawings to obtain a car, etc. You can read all about that online. Anyways, bystanders might expect or think that these will get cheaper and be made again, time will tell. I do not expect Akio Toyoda to water down his namesake by making more Morizo’s. I think this car will be a highly sought driver and collectible in the future. When you get in this car “you get it”, thanks Akio Toyoda. And did I mention those rims, “just wow”.

I don't care what they call it. I just want something in blue flame for a reasonable price with zero markups and a decent interest rate.

a lot of people get lost here. they may not realize that they are watching influencers make videos on YouTube instead of looking at photos made by influencers on Instagram, but the effect is the same. there is nothing such as 'journalistic integrity' when it comes to being an influencer. I asked ChatGPT to speak about youtube channels and journalistic integrity, this is what it had to say on the subject:

thanks ChatGPT, it pretty much about sums it up. in general. at the end of the day, YouTube rewards channels for views, and companies reward channels for subscribers. the more subscribers, the more a company will do to have you pimp their products. it should generally be assumed that a YouTube channel is attempting to sell you something, unless they prove themselves to not be.

anyway, not that this subject has anything to do with the topic of the thread. the video may have been shared on an influencers channel, but it is a recording of a Toyota marketing director handing out details of a car that were based on Toyota's plans at the time, not an influencer trying to gain clicks, or subs by making a statement.
There is no such thing as "journalistic integrity." There never has been. From the beginning it has always been opinions and lies no matter the byline, the paper, or the media. Walter Cronkite was extremely biased in everything he ever did. As was every writer at every paper or tv news outlet.
