2024MY
Core comes standard with PP

CE stays the same, but they make more of them than 2023MY

Morizo is replaced with another limited edition model that is more or less the same. Also gets production # bump to 500-1000 units

2025MY
Core stay the same as 2024

CE gets Morizo torque bump, but stays the same otherwise

LE model comes with more carbon fiber, but is still functionally the same to Morizo

2026-2029MY
light refresh for entire line. Maybe a modest torque or power bump. Also auto version is introduced. Core is phased out and CE becomes Base trim. More Limited models that are little more than material and paint upgrades. Gets discontinued towards the end of the decade.

the corolla full refresh cadence is every 5-6 yrs. the current corolla hatch has been out since 2019 model year, which means GR Corolla production is only guaranteed until 2024/2025 model year. at that point, toyota will have to decide if they want to continue producing GR Corollas for the next gen.

my guess is that corolla hatch will receive a full refresh earlier than later because the current civic platform is doing better in sales. current corolla is too small in its segment.

I hate model creep/bloat. The Civic is basically the size of an Accord from earlier.
Maybe thell extend the current Corolla with maybe just facelift for a bit. The next big gen will be new drivetrain if we believe the announcements of the ev push.

almost 0% chance the next corolla will be EV. you can't produce EVs at a low enough cost to call it a corolla.

toyota is committed to making EVs, but they're going to be new platform/models. even teslas can't get their cheapest model 3 to be less than 30k.

not with no back seat. I'm sure all 200 will sell, but if production numbers pumped that much for a 4 door, 2 seater, I think they might end up having a hard time moving units.

I know a lot of people bought the core with the notion that it would be hard to get the circuit…

This is somewhat refreshing, should also help further stabilize core prices for those willing to do some of the upgrades manually.

I based my predictions on how Toyota handled the Matrix XRS in the early 2000's and the latest GR releases. My predictions are:
2024 MY
No changes except more cars being produced to meet global demand.
Dealer installed armrest available from TRD Japan??
Circuit becomes available in a metallic black
I expect more TRD/GR parts to be available this year
2025 MY
Some sort of exterior refresh/enhancement (unlikely)
Potential of further addressing differential cooling issues.
Infotainment screen upgrade (except Morizo), dual zone climate control (except Morizo)
HUD??? (also unlikely)
Automatic transmission available
Revised suspension tuning
Revised software(Toyota Safety Sense 3.5. GR-FOUR, Hairpin plus lol)
A new special edition car that celebrates another Toyota racing driver perhaps? (basing this on the GR Yaris special editions just released a little while ago). If anything a new designation besides Circuit. I think a navy or silver colored car would rule.
Core and special editions models specced with the LSDs come standard with the 235 BBS forged rims available in Japan.
2026 MY
Final year of production.
GRMN Corolla released. A tad more power and torque? And da carbon. Special parts etc.
Special edition gains Morizo front seats but retains backseat and original power.
Core available in Wind Chill Pearl, Circuit Edition seats.

Sorry that it's long and detailed. I had this in the back of my mind for ages and am clearly waiting for the chance to buy one lol.
