Looks like there are at least 10 norcal members on the forum that have taken delivery of their GRC so why not start a NorCal roll call and plan meets/drives etc.

I’ll start it off - hello from the East Bay Area!

What's up y'all! Checking in from SF. Picked mine up from City Toyota 3/13 and love it more and more each day. Been having a field day ordering mods, can't wait to get it all put together.

Do any of you have a trusted mechanic in the area that would be capable and willing to swap cams and springs for me?

Would also be down for a meetup, I'll keep an eye on this thread for the next one 🤙

My reaction reading through this is that you're clearly much more tuned into the sound than I am and, for me, ignorance may be bliss. I don't have any complaints with the stock exhaust besides that I want a bit more volume and aggression when I'm stepping on it. This is the first car I've owned worth modding so it's the beginning of my journey, I may eventually understand where you're coming from and in the meantime I'm just going to enjoy it :) def curious to see how the magnaflow sounds tho

Ok so MF is loud lol. Sounds awesome but loud. I'm not sure I can drive around my neighborhood with it in good conscience, especially considering I leave for work at 6am and my landlord's bedroom is above the garage 😅 I installed the OTL downpipe at the same time and I'm not confident I have a sealed connection between them which could be adding to the volume. Curious if you have any thoughts.

OTL came with non-springed bolts with short threads that pass all the way through the two flanges rendering them useless. The ridge on the springed bolts don't pass through the midpipe side so can't tighten it down enough. So I put the springs on the OTL bolts and tightened it down as far as I could but it doesn't look sealed. Thinking I'll just go get fully threaded bolts so I can tighten down all the way, I'm just not sure if the joint is supposed to be allowed some movement. I've also reached out to OTL for feedback.

My neighborhood has a 25 mph speed limit. Coming home with everything at full temp at lower speeds generated pretty bad drone. Don't remember the exact RPM anymore, but I remember having to rev up or shift gears to get out of the drone zone. It was at lower rpm.

I also noticed it in traffic, especially with AC on. Drove me nuts. My NA Miata went through 5 or 6 different exhaust setups until I found what I liked. I'm so glad I found Milltek on the first go with the GRC.

Gotcha. Sounds like that is the same boominess/resonance I'm talking about, around 2000-2500 rpm when valve is open. I've heard a handful of exhausts "get rid of it" but the two that I tried certainly did not. If I'm ever over that way, I'll ping you to hear the milltek.

It’s so nice that everything’s Been replaced with fresh Michelin/road tarmac. Does anyone remember when c-130 was carpet bombed and Calaveras was still choppy and still gravel.

Hey all,

Hailing from the Vallejo Area. 2024 Ice Cap premium I got in June.

I've done some small cosmetic stuff but since this is my first brand-new car I'm trying to maintain the warranty and just commute with her.

The miles will go by quickly as I do about 25-30k miles/year.

Plan is to lift and put bigger tires to do rallycross things after.

For now here she sits

Hi all. Waiting for delivery of my 25, hopefully at the end of the week. I live in Marina (just north of Monterey) and spend time driving all over Nor Cal. Parents are in Shingle Springs, brother in Paradise. Spouse is from Grass Valley. I lived in Reno 12 years so I explored all the roads between here and there.

Mine came home today. It’s exactly what I wanted.

Thanks for the invite! Unfortunately I've got some work stuff that day so won't be able to make it. Hopefully the next one!

Also, I'm organizing a south bay 86 meet this upcoming Saturday. I used to do it since I had the brz before and people have been asking me to keep doing them lol.

If you or anybody is interested it'll be next Saturday 11-2pm in north San Jose at the north first street plaza across from target.

Hi all,
It's time for my GRC's first oil change, and I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Stevens Creek Toyota in San Jose. I saw the earlier messages about the Sunnyvale Toyota which would be an alternative, if there have been bad experiences with the Stevens Creek dealership.
