Well it is the ugliest Z ever made imo lol. The 300zx was a great car that looked like an exotic of its time. the 350z looked ok but less exotic. 370z was pretty ugly with those hook lights and imo the new Z is just plain ugly. like they took a Z31 rear, glued it to a 240z front then spray painted it one color.
I don't mind the looks of the new Z from certain angles. The front is just fugly no matter how you look at it and that big square grille is just so out of date. Throwing in a nice shiny FMIC in that big grille would be nice, too bad the VR30dett uses a water to air intercooler setup. The orange Z that Nissan was showing off with the split grille was a much better front end option, too bad it won't be offered. Another thing that turned people off was the $10k difference between the 2 trims, and what that extra $10k actually got you (not much besides an LSD, different wheels, brembos, and heated seats I believe).
It's also getting crushed by the supra in all the performance comparisons. A big reason is due to the shitty tire selection apparently. I mean, Nissan couldn't throw some decent rubber on the wheels? What were they thinking? I'm sure they were using a supra alongside the Z for testing purposes, and they couldn't figure that out?
Just a huge fail all the way around for Nissan. They better fix all the complaints and do a minor facelift for the 2024 model, or it's gonna be lights out for the Z.

Funny you mentioned that b/c I used to ride motorcycles with the guy who designed the 370z and eventually the Rogue and Juke, Randy Rodriguez

He was a cool guy but those cars were not my cup of tea either. IMO, the best Z were the 280Z and the Z32.

I 100% agree with that. imo all those z cars after the z32 were just downhill in the looks department. 350z was just a slight downgrade but it was a steep slope down after that. I did like the platform though which is why i went with a G35 coupe instead as the rear looked so much better in comparison.

I think the rear is quite handsome but the unstyled brace face is really bad.

I mainly take issue with all the cost cutting the new Z has and yet it's still expensive. Really Nissan? You're not going to include an LSD on a 400hp $40k sports car? When the Supra, Mustang, Camaro and the much cheaper GR86 do.

Then you're going feature lock the LSD behind a $10k Performance trim "upgrade" yet the upgraded tires are still garbage and has been the excuse of every Z fan why the car has been losing comparisons left and right.

The last good looking Nissan was the final iteration of the 240sx.

In the US, I somewhat agree. But not worldwide. Both the S15 and R34 GTR we're released afterwards and are both sexy cars. I would argue the infinity Q60 coupe is pretty damn sexy.

You know you've did something right when Lamborghini uses your headlights. :ROFLMAO:

Too bad working on that engine was such a PITA! If only they would have stuck a TT I6 in there, than the Z32 would have been a legend!
Exactly. PITA and busted knuckles. Too bad Nissan didn’t cross shared the Z and put an RB in there instead of wanting to keep the Skyline exclusive to Japan. At least Toyota gave the U.S the better version of the Supra.

I hear the same is true with the VR30dett. Pulling a damn motor just tell replace turbo(s) is BS.

I generally like Raiti. He’s pretty knowledgeable and has a good sense of humor.
I find it interesting he's so popular because to me, he exaggerates so much, repeats himself constantly, and just doesn't add any real input or info other than the same press info everyone else gets and some very basic commentary about the car.

Of course he might be knowledgeable, but it certainly doesn't show in his videos.

That's the problem with just about every one of these guys.

What you want is someone who can look at the car and pull out engineering stuff that's NOT handed out in the press release.

Anyone can yap on about body work and badges and wheel sizes and what colour the interior is. You seldom even get a shot of under the car or the suspension for example or materials used.

I'm generally only interested in a review that hits the track and has some technical stuff in it because the rest is in the colour brochure.

That's one of the things I like about SarahNTuned. She gets into like the real in depth specs on some of the cars that no one even talks about

Not sure how long this has been in effect but stumbled on it when looking at the Nissan NZ Website.

Not like Toyota at all, they have an online ordering system set-up for you to register for a Nissan Z.

Anyone in New Zealand can get their name on the list.
Yeah Toyota is more factory friendly then consumer friendly. (Other than the Yaris.)
