Are the N model lineups just as easy to steal as the base model lineups?
No full alarm and immobilizer in the i30N model here, what part of top spec do you not get ? it has about a dozen things the GRC doesn't have, that's why I'm having trouble justifying paying for what will be a silly price for the GRC over here.

The way this is written, you’re saying there is no immobilizer or alarm. Adding a coma after no, would completely change the meaning of the sentence to what you probably actually meant. Punctuation is very important.

Okay to make it clear the i30N has a full alarm and immobilizer, the key fob has proximity so it will only run the engine with the fob inside the car which is pretty typical here now even with a Suzuki Swift.

Its likely we will get a near identical spec GRC car to that of Australia. What is possible is that its just an entry level core that they have thrown the CE front bonnet on to keep the boy racers happy. Its a phenomenon over here, you put badges and bits on your car over here to try and make it look like something its not.

Other things it has or probably is going to have over the NZ spec GRC.

19inch Alloys
Forged Alloys
Adaptive dampers
Full adjustable custom driving mode
E-Diff so it has torque vectoring to the front wheels
Full Leather
Heated seats
Heated steering wheel
Heated and folding wing mirrors
Armrest
Steering wheel tilt AND telescopic
10.25inch centre display
Normal instrument cluster not a tv screen but has a 4.2inch TFT in the centre for driver information.
Dual Climate aircon
Electric seats both driver and passenger with memory
Tire pressure monitoring
Sat nav
Wireless charging
Decent rear spoiler with built in F1 style stop light.
A 2L 4 cylinder engine that produces a way better exhaust note.
An engine that makes full power at only 15-17psi not a stupid 23-26psi because its missing a cylinder and has to compensate.
Less power but more torque stock.
No longer a new design, its been going since like 2018 so has had plenty of time to sort out issues and improve.

The Hyundai just offers way more bang for you buck and realistically when are you going to get your GRC ? its probably at least a year away that's if you get one at all. Yes I still have not bought an i30N because we still have not received the NZ spec for the GRC, let alone the pricing but it WILL be more expensive that the i30N, even for the lowest spec version possible based off your USD pricing.

There's ppl who actually want 19 in wheels on a hatchback?? 😳

All I can say is if I lived in Australia or New Zealand, I would be getting myself a GR Yaris, and that would be the end of the story.

Loads of them for sale over here, they are not selling. Take your pick of 14 of them they are all under NZD$70K for a used one.

One ugly little car, wouldn't even look at it if it was NZD$50K

Would get sick of explaining to people why I just spent NZD$70K on a Yaris, would you spend USD$42K on a second hand GR Yaris ?

Please with sugar and a cherry on top, oh and don't forget the whipped cream.
GR Yaris is to me, the far more capable, entertaining, tossable fun car, rally homologation special, so why not? I like smaller cars.
I have a nice winter beater, when I need to carry more than 2 people.

Personally I feel that 19" wheels are too big and heavy for a small car.
Another issue is the larger the wheel the lower the profile of the tire and a harsher ride, and also has the greater potential for wheel damage on crappy roads.
Ask me how I know.
My Veloster N has 19" wheels and I wish it had 18's, the ride is about as firm as I can take.
The previous generation Civic Type R came with 20-in wheels and basically black rubber bands as tires.
The new one now comes with 19s so what does that tell you.
Unsprung Mass is your enemy, that's why lighter Wheels equals better performance, and smaller Wheels equal lighter Wheels.

Pretty sure a set of forged 19's with tires are going to be lighter than a set of cast 18's with tires.

The new CTR comes with 19's because the tire choice is much better than 20's and the tires are cheaper. I could run 235/35R19 or for slightly softer ride 245/35R19.

I can get away with 19's as long as you have adaptive dampers.

We get some bad pot holes over here and now I'm going to start avoiding certain roads. We recently had a major incident over here where the road gave out in a bad storm and took out 30 plus cars with blown tires and stuffed rims so basically 18's or 19's will make no difference if you hit something big enough at speed.
