Might as well merge all the threads about Hyundai?
I would be so game with that as long as it’s actually relevant. I was fine with the Elantra n vs type r vs grc thread being separate but holy god every thread keeps having the i30N come up.

Okay, we’ll figure something out so we can have all the Hyundai owners in a single thread glorifying their own car

I have no problem on that, even Subaru or any car manufacturer

But they love to stay 😬
Pretty sure I'm only going to be here until the NZ spec and the price is released for the GRC in this country.

I have been waiting since April so no point quitting right now, its inevitable the price and spec will be released in a matter of days if not November at the latest. I don't want to register a car here in 2022 now anyway so late Feb 2023 is my desired delivery date on anything new. I can currently get an i30N of my colour choice in 3 to 4 months.

Highly unlikely now that after a deep dive into the i30N that I would buy a GRC, especially as I'm picking it will be another NZD$8K over the top of the i30N and for what you get for the money it simply doesn't justify it. If they think they can get NZD$70K (total drive away price) for this car over here to drive around with the thousands of other Corollas currently on the road it will be a total fizzer.

Still in a holding pattern, got a perfectly good JDM Subaru 3.0R 6MT sitting in the garage if the need for AWD should occur.

Problem is, the allocation. How many will go to Aus/NZ. That’s the biggest question so far

Not really if the car doesn't live up to expectations spec and price wise, I don't care how long it will take to get here, if ever it just gets crossed off the wish list straight away.

But the interior of the grc is so cheap. At least the interior of the i30N looks luxurious and very high tech/modern. Plus it goes 0-60
The interior of the GRC is horrible by comparison but if the GRC outperformed the i30N in other significant areas you could overlook that.

The problem is when the GRC is worse than the i30N in every aspect except AWD, you simply cannot justify it.

Loved the MR2, owned it 23 years but that doesn't make me a blind Toyota fanboy. If the GRC basically sucks donkey balls then I'm going to be honest about it, I'm not getting paid by manufacturers to make YouTube videos.

Not to me. It’s not different than a STi being an Impreza and having a very Impreza like interior. It was the same story for the EVO and the Focus RS. I’m happy they put the money into the drivetrain, engine, etc, and not foo-foo stuff. The GRC is a drivers car. I don’t see it as some luxo barge or some daily driver. It’s built to send it hard into turns, and I love that. If Toyota tried to please everyone with all their wants with tech, mod cons, etc, they would have mailed it in and it never would have been built.
