Exhaust Set Up

The size of the OE muffler is huge. It does a lot. Aftermarket units are using half and even quarter the size mufflers. Resonators almost. They improve flow and add noise. Just kinda how it goes.
Yes you are right, trying to strike that balance, but low speed noise on GR is a little much for my office parking lot with after-market….Out on the road, no problem.

I am going to contact ValveTronic about a remote.

FWIW, stock exhaust is very lightweight for OEM, kind of surprised me, also has a resonator before the muffler.

They went outside and did donuts at the end, seemed to give a good indication of real world sound. This one doesn't sound too bad. I have a lot of questions about this video but few are to do with the car.

woo I'm liking that dual, sounds good and reasonable volume. Will the tips have enough adjustability to be brought in closer to flush with the bumper? August 😬 hopefully the wait doesn't make summer go by faster heh.
Yes, the tips can come in a little bit :)

Is there anyway a system could have a remote for the valves? I have ordered valve controllers in the past, but often an exhaust company can make it an option for an additional price.

I have heard aftermarket exhausts on the CRC and they are much louder than stock, not sure why, but for those of us with neighbors and office settings that require a bit of quiet it could be a great solution.
I'm sorry we cannot make that provision. We have to purchase/make the exact same assembly in bulk.

I was never a big fan of the N1 shape, had the GT model way back in the day that looked great. I still think the more modest look of something like the WS could look great on these.
If you did 2 on the outside then a block off in the center, yes. That look great. But the muffler would have to be stubby. And you would have some hard 90 degree bends to get back to the middle.

Is the catless mid-pipe after the catted downpipe? Will it cause a CEL?
As said, it's the 2nd cat, thankfully the o2 is before that one. The first one, right off the turbo is most likely the biggest bottle neck. Problem is you will throw a CEL.

Like this? 😁

So just to confirm that I'm understanding this correctly, there are two cats, but only one is monitored, and the unmonitored cat is in the mid pipe that you are replacing?
The O2 sensor is brfore the secondary cat, so there is no actual monitoring of anything that comes out after that secondary catalytic converter

It certainly sounds like the secondary cat is not monitored either. If there's no O2 sensor after it, it's not monitored.

As a slightly off topic question, have any of you guys who have replaced your exhaust and previously experienced the 78 mph drone noticed whether it has gone away with a new exhaust?

I was trying to pay attention to this today, I did not notice the drone anymore, although the exhaust being significantly louder in cabin at this speed may be a contributing factor, but no annoying cyclic drone nonetheless

Actually I never checked this. I will once I get to Colorado

I love how large the tips are. Are you guys planning on making a titanium version of this one as well?

I'm definitely picking this up when its released, the other duals currently out sound too farty.
We will not be doing titanium in the dual system at this time. If we see enough demand, that could change.

that is correct :)

I'll be interested to hear your feedback on this once you've gotten to spend a little time with it.
Did a three hour drive yesterday back home from GR track day. Set cruise at every speed from 74-86 mph for a while at each speed and drove under different loads. The only time I noticed any bit of cyclic droning was 78-80ish mph under HEAVY load up hill. Other wise just the buzz of the much louder aftermarket exhaust which was quite a bit louder over 80mph vs 75 or lower
