got notification my fix is shipped! Happy to get it but Ive never tripped the CEL in the month or 2 ive had the intake on!

Finally installed my intake along with PCV replacement! Super easy install, especially following the youtube guide.

INSTALL TIP > I found it much easier to get vacuum lines off by gently pushing them down from their ends with a flathead screwdriver while pulling down with my fingers rather then simply pulling down with pliers. Mine wouldn't budge at all but I discovered if I pushed while pulling at the same time they came off with minimal effort.

My only complaint is the airflow sensor mounting face and threads weren't exactly "true" if that makes sense. The air sensor doesn't sit totally flush to the tube and it took some finessing to get both screws to thread in. Once I got them started and tightened down though the sealing rings on the air sensor body were within the opening so I think its fine. I was also an early pre-orderer and early recipient of the replacement tube so it wouldn't surprise me if this has been improved.

Results? About 30 - 40% more "psssh" when dropping throttle. Just a touch more induction noise, primarily at low RPM. At higher RPM the exhaust drowns it out. I'm actually really happy with the "psssh". It's just a bit louder without being obnoxious and ever-present. That said I do wish I got more of that vacuum cleaner whoosh sucking noise under acceleration but I think to do that I'll need to get the forge turbo inlet that gets rid of the sound dampening chambers.

Butt dyno says a bit more take-up and pull to the end but nothing ground braking (as expected). I've driven about 1hr / 45 miles, full throttle to redline, various loads, still no CEL.

Overall, very happy with this purchase and excited to buy more SXTH stuff! They've been great at communicating through the tube replacement and PCV fix process and I think it's awesome they're focused on producing parts for enthusiasts at realistic price points. Keep it up!!

My GR is currently on the boat headed towards my dealership, so I have a question: Would it be wise to wait until after the engine is broken-in before installing the intake? Or as long I follow proper break-in procedures the intake shouldn't cause any issues? Very tempting to order the SXTH intake and immediately put it in.

It won't matter if you install it right away. Air is air, you'll just be getting a little more of it in the beginning :)

Hey SXTH, bad news. I managed to pop a P2C90 code last week with the intake including PCV fix installed 😬. I've had it installed about month (1k miles) and been commuting as well as driving the piss of the car.

The scenario-

I was travelling on the freeway just getting into downtown Seattle. Slowed down to about 10mph to duck left through a lane of slow moving traffic back out to a flowing lane. I slowed rapidly (downshift to 2nd gear), jumped left into the middle backed up lane, then immediately left again and stabbed the gas to accelerate back out into the far left free flowing lane. It was about 45* F, and at 250ft above sea level. Although I was certainly low in the powerband and not making much if any boost, I felt the passenger wheels slip on the damp paint lines and heard the chime. When I glanced down I realized I had lights still on and saw the Check Engine and System Malfunction messages. There was no noticeable loss in power or change in engine behavior other then the dash displayed info. When I got home I used my OB2 tool to confirm and clear the code.

Interesting as it was a very specific set of circumstances and inputs that seems to have triggered it. I'm going to keep running the intake and providing feedback. I haven't had any issues under normal driving, or hard WOT performance driving circumstances. It seems to have not liked this combo of suddenly being lugged out of powerband with jerky input and wheel slip.

I also had the CEL pop on my once after installing the PCV Fix for my sxth. I can't remember what triggered it but I unplugged/replugged the battery and it hasn't happened since.

You are the first person I've seen report anything above sub 30F temperatures. Whatever you were doing just happened to be end the end of the cycle count for those kinds of throttle conditions as explained in the blog.

Clear it and see if if comes back for you,.

How long has it beeen? If it was really cold we have had a very small group come back.

I have yet been able to get my CEL to come on since implementing this, when during testing I could make it come on within 10 min every 2 drive cycles.

It was about 1-2 weeks ago and around 30-40 degrees. Before I did the fix, the code would come on frequently. So far so good but I will report back if it happens again

PSA to anyone out there doing this install, don't be an idiot like me and pull too hard on the vacuum hose from the MAP sensor, it can snap the plastic easily. $200 mistake that can be easily avoided, hubris is a real son of a gun.
I also had the misfortune of making this mistake— luckily some super glue and hot glue was able to do the trick. I have another MAP sensor on order but no CEL with my quick fix. If I had to do it again, I would warm up the hose a little bit before removal, apparently this makes the hose way more pliable

I was also stupid and broke my sensor on install. I should have just unbolted the sensor and made it easier to pull straight down. $200 lesson and it's been fine for a week or so now.

Just had a cel pop back up twice again in cold weather as well with the pcv fix.
First time occurred after 200 miles of the fix and second time came back around 30 miles after a battery reset
Im communicating with SXTH on the side. They’ve got more tricks up their sleeve and I’ll report back once I have the definitive solve. One thing I noticed on mine was the hose on the vacuum sensor side slipped down a bit because it doesn’t have a barb so I zip tied it up. They also suggested shortening the hose as much as possible without impeding flow. I also zipped it up (not tight, just enough to hold the hose) to keep it from flopping. I noticed each time mine came on it was during sudden hard braking or a big bump / jolt so I wonder if the hose hopping around might disrupt the signal.

For sure, I’ll definitely try out most of the fixes. Hoping everything goes well since I’m tired of resetting the battery.

Just get an obd scanner, they're like $20 on Amazon lol

Welp, CEL come on again post fix. It was around 40 degrees out and I was going up a long hill in 4th. Revs were around 4500rpm then I punched it and shifted into 5th and the CEL popped back up.

Hey everyone!

I now have more miles on my intake without a CEL then when I originally did the install and started seeing the CEL about 1000 miles in. SXTH has been super communicative and helped me get my install straightened out and I can confidently say this is the intake to get if you want to avoid a tune to get rid of the CEL.

If you have a CEL after PCV fix install reach out them via email. They'll get you sorted for sure!

Thanks again @SXTH Element Engineering

What ended up being the problem? And what was the prescribed solution?
