If they can combine two K Series engines together, I'm sure they can combine 2 G16e engines to make a V6 Supra twin turbo and make it a true Toyota Supra. 600HP, that's plenty for a stock Supra. No more "FRankenStein creationZs". Also throw a G16e (from a GR Yaris/257HP) on a GR86 as well and it will make perfect sense for the GR Toyota sports are lineup.
Any future generation supra should be a I6 turbo only. Throwing a V6 TT will ruin the legacy. Design the successor to the 2JZ, call it the 3JZ (perfect as it should be 3.0L) and call it a day. Unfortunately would probably be offered only in an automatic (preferably a DCT). Price it about the same as the current Supra, and it would be a winner.
Wouldn't even have to sink that much funding into the engine development. Just use the blueprint for the 2JZ, and tweaking it to modernize it for emissions. Switch to single turbo to cut costs, modify for direct and port injection, perhaps switch short block from iron to billet aluminum for weight savings (would increase costs though). Use same rotating assembly as the 2JZ for more cost cutting, could even use a slighty modded 2JZ cylinder head for even more cost savings.

A guy van only dream cant he? But in all honesty, it really isnt out the realm of possibility.

They could’ve just used the V35A-FTS or 2gr since it did replace the 2jz. The whole needed to be a I6 is why Akio wanted to make a Supra with BMW.

Haven't been on here in a while but I actually ended up trading my CE for a manual 45th anniversary Supra a few months back.

BMW jokes aside, it's a really good platform and the manual is way better than the ones found in actual BMW's

Congrats on the trade in. You get a good deal on it?

Another congrats. I was big time on the fence getting a 6MT Supra vs. the CE. I put down over 50% when I bought it so the Supra was doable. In the dry, I regret not getting the Supra, but in the cold or the wet, and we get a lot of rain here, no contest, CE all day. Once it’s warm, IE not the winter, I’m on my sportbikes for cornering. Long term I’ll have the CE at 400 whp. Cams, valve springs, new turbo, new clutch, etc. Once modded the cost is a wash and I bet honestly, the Supra would be cheaper over all as I drove my friend’s slushbox with just a JB4 and it didn’t need anything else. But I would have modded the Supra more than that. Was a tough decision. I f’d up in 2008 and bought my first AWD platform for a performance car, a STi. Since, I haven’t bought another RWD platform because my bikes are RWD and they are more important than any car. I’m already well into RSV4 Factory vs V4 Panigale now. It’s a got d sickness.
