Anything I take apart on suspension, I always use Loctite to make sure nothing rattles loose
Just to clarify, these bolts seem to be under torqued from the factory and shift around. After torquing properly, they seem to be fine

Update:

Did an event Sunday on a fairly bumpy lot and the clunking is still there but even worse now. I'm fairly convinced that something is broken. Anytime I'm braking hard while turning or accelerating while turning, you can feel something shifting pretty dramatically under the car, and it makes an audible clunk noise.

I spoke with someone on one of the FB groups who has the same issues. He mentioned all the same symptoms. Turns out he had a broken transmission to chassis mount (the one that sits underneath the air box). I'm gonna inspect that this weekend after I fix my FRS and see if that's the culprit.

Ok put on my air buds and after several listens I did actually hear the clunk he is talking about but it takes several listens with either headphones, studio monitors or buds. Oh and Ya I do work in Pro Audio. 😂 It indeed was hard to hear unless listening for it specifically with buds or monitors . He also probably hears it better because he has already identified the sound distinctly . It’s much like seeing flaws in your paint once you have seen it you cannot unsee it.

CSM ya that clunk being a broken trans mount sounds about right .😂 no pun intended.

So interestingly enough, the noise I was complaining about from the last event stopped. I think it was those top bolts on the struts being loose.

This is a completely different noise altogether.

I'll report back this weekend after poking around.

Strut bolts can do that long ago when I first put my ST STX coilovers in the FiST before I got wiser 😏 I had a clunk that turned out to be the strut bolt on the right front. I would not suspect that though if you had not changed the struts , did you? 🤣

Word to the wise always check the coilover the nuts on new coilovers as even though they are preassembled it does not mean someone at the factory was not tired that day and missed torquing a nut on them. It can and does happen even on good brands.
No such thing as 100% perfect in assembly line manufacturing or in manufacturing period.

I did not change struts. Everyone I know that have checked the bolts have found they're under torqued (spec is 37 ft*lb)
I will be checking mine tomorrow. I ran an autocross recently and multiple friends, even myself, thought it sounded like hitting cones in a video that was a clean run. I've been going crazy looking for a phantom water bottle under my seat.

Update (6/8/2024)
took it to my service dealer (not the dealer i bought it from) they found a second shipping block in the front end. they then checked the trans mount , top hat bolts, and subframe mounts all were tight. they did show me that the block that was sill in there was quite tore up meaning it had been interfering with the proper function of the shock causing it to bind then let go allegedly making the loud metallic bang i heard.
i am going to my NASA event on the 22nd and will report back after that to see if they really did check everything.

i have what sounds like the exact same thing. i have 23,896 miles and i was bombing around my dirt track today l. i upshifted from first to second on a medium left and heard a loud metallic bang like a rock slamming the undercarriage. then hard breaking into a tight left, downshifted into first as i began to accelerate out of the corner there is a drop in the track it banged again louder as i pitched over the drop under full acceleration and i seemed to feel it on the left front of the car. my passenger commented "what was that?" i then upshifted into second on a the short straight and it banged again. i stopped the run. the steering seemed off... not the same. i went slowly back to the house and jacked up the car nothing seemed loose nothing seemed bent or broken tie rods were good.

i went out and drove the course slowly and noted no noise until i increased speed then i heard what was a much softer clunk that had never been there before.

prior to this i have been hitting the track hard, even harder than the run when this happened with no clunks or bangs.

i was unfortunately not recording this run as i was not trying to push it.

the car is 100% stock.
im going to take it in to my dealer and have them specifically check everything you guys have mentioned here. i look forward to seeing what is found and will share what i find. here is a video of the GR corollas fastest lap so far on my track for reference on how hard i have pushed with no issues. there are No clunks to be heard even if i posted the raw without music.

Spent some time today poking around the car. Checked all of the engine mounts and transmission mounts. They're totally fine.

Then I went and checked end links, ball joints, tie rod ends - all good.

Then I checked the torque on the 6 19mm sub frame bolts. Two of them were literally not torqued at all! I torqued all six to 70 ft lbs and so far it seems fine. Hoping this solves the issue.

update. found a factory suspension shipping block sitting on the track near where the noises were.
looks like the original dealer has some explaining to do. not sure yet if this was the cause of my sounds or. not

Are you talking about the 2 braces that go from the subframe to the lower rails? They are to be torqued to 70nm, not ft lbs, so maybe that is why it seemed like they weren't torqued.

Could you point me towards a guide or map that shows where I would find the 6 subframe bolts? I believe I’m having the same problem as you were experiencing.
There are 6 bolts on the subframe that take a 19mm wrench. The two most rearward bolts were only finger tight on my car.

No. Those aren't the ones I am talking about.
