Power windows would be nice, especially when my brother takes his bike out of the garage.

 

power windows are usually not a thing because too many people steal them to make small gundam robots to fight in underground arenas. huge problem in LA and NYC

 

There is a kit on eBay I've been eyeing since I got my car. I think it's the same as AliExpress. It replaces the whole mirror skeleton. Comes as a kit with button and harness. I emailed them and they said it involves wiring. Which isn't a big deal.

 

I’ve done quite a few of these but not our chassis.
2 sets of 5th Gen 4Runners and 1 FK8. Hirevsports used to make an E210 kit but no longer available.

 

I just ordered the ones off eBay. Hahha

When I asked about the wiring months ago they sent me this. Seems straight forward.

 

Following this. idk why, but I really like auto-folding mirrors.

 

I added them to all 3 of my Subarus.
My first 2 were older and I found out that with the cold weather package Subaru sourced Nissan Pathfinder mirrors. Do you know how hard it was to find someone selling power folding late 90s Pathfinder mirrors? But I did. Twice.

It's the cool factor.

I also emailed the dude who has the working prototype but the way he sounds, he'll be looking for $$$$$ (5 dollar signs on his post). It's definitely a nice to have but hopefully he prices the retro fit with sanity else there's always a DIY option right..

1. on the aliexpress set, I don't think our GR's have a blank slot for the folding mirror button but hey I could be wrong (will edit away when I check). If so there might be replacement controls for the window switches on the drivers side door controls.

1. Without cold weather you get a blank. I'm willing to bet the switch will be that blue back lit color. Not white like ours. That drive me crazy.
2.Usually the left stops too soon. The right opens too far. This is due to being setup for RHD. A stop will need to be added somehow. Sometimes you can get around it with mirror adjustments.

 

I don’t have a blank spot. Might delete the auto lights button like I did on the GX

I saw dollar signs in his post so I assumed it would be. Tho $380 seems on par with the stuff on aliexpress so I agree it's not bad.

Can he supply a white backlit switch?
I may just not put the switch on the dash. Just use the power fold/open with the fob.

Along with front & rear parking sensors
And Head Up Display....

 

Nice, it has most the features from japan except the larger infotainment. The only thing I'm jealous on your trims is that the CE equivalent model in AU removes the carbon roof, it's going to cost me extra to have to wrapped and the upkeep isn't worth the aesthetics IMO. for the lower cost in the US and more availability, i don't mind missing out on those features you listed. Im sure later MYs will get those upgrades barring the mirrors.

 

The Aussie GTS variant (1485kg) is actually lighter than the Circuit (1490kg) with the Carbon roof! For me, no carbon roof isn't an issue, its just another thing that needs to be protected, especially if left out in the sun. Maybe Carbon Roof weight is offset by the extra airbags you have in the US versions. We don't get the Front Passenger under Seat or the rear seat side Airbags.

Aliexpress kit arrived and not plug and play
Motors for the mirrors worked since all 12th Gen Corollas are basically the same.
The harnesses Ali supplied did not match our GR.
Hopefully I can return without any hassle.

Ended up buying the CarStomIt kit for $380 and is 100% plug and play.
All done in under 2 hours and zero running wires thru door jams.
Only flaw in this new kit is the mirror switch illuminates blue and not white.

Mind sharing pictures and the process you went through personally with it?

 

Did not take photos of the process, also the reason how I sped through it. (Only took pics of the mirror connector)

My process didn’t involve tearing up the entire mirror adjuster to run wires. Only need to separate the two main plugs from the white housing in order to run through cavity.
The YouTube video was my baseline guide.

 

Is the blue backlight on the power mirror switch the same color as the backlight on the wireless changer? Trying to see if I can tolerate the different color backlight, thanks!

Keep in mind, when I got my kit,the motor for the right side mirror was off. I had to twist the motor one click for it to line up properly. Also, good luck with getting the mirror apart,it's a PITA.
