Is this your 1st Manual car?

There isnt a magic number. Thats the beauty of having a fully manual transmission. As long as you dont make love to the rev limiter or keep it bogged down (not on boost) and keep lugging the engine you do whatever you feel like it at the moment. Choose the gear and the rpm you want and just drive! I like to keep it at around 4000rpm so that it has full boost ready on tap and very good throttle response from there. I dont care about Miles per galon at all. I didnt buy this car to start paying attention to gas prices.
But yeah, 4000rpm is where this engine lives since full boost starts at 3450rpm. I shift between 6k and 6500rpm ( I'm not a rev limiter lover ) where the power starts to die off.
I'm just starting to get used to the IMT, I still have to catch my right foot from heel-toeing from time to time.
Every manual car I had in the past and present has either a shift recommendation, or a recommended shift point table in the owner's manual. Or both.
I figured that table has been validated before, so I do heed it.
