GRC Spoilers, what are you going to run?

So it looks as though the GRC Cores are only coming with the standard “spoiler“ which is pretty lame. The “Big” spoiler that is supposed to come on the Circuit was pictured on the internet early on and then all of the sudden it was absent from all video reviews of the prototype Circuits that were at the track in Utah! Supposedly the spoiler was being redesigned or was victim to the supply shortage?!

Since I want a real spoiler, I went down to my local dealer and bought the factory larger spoiler! Below you will see some pictures of Corolla hatchback spoilers. The small one is what comes on all Standard and Core models. The larger one is the factory Spoiler available at your Toyota dealership now. The Largest one pictured appeared on the early prototype Circuit models.

I went with the Factory larger spoiler because I like the fit and finish of the Genuine Toyota Hatchback Part, I have installed three. By the way, Toyota sells that larger spoiler painted in factory colors and unpainted, but the catch is the unpainted spoiler is about $50 MORE than the painted spoiler! My GRC will be Supersonic Red, but I went with a factory Black pre painted one. If you aren’t familiar with Toyota’s Black paint, it’s actually metallic with blue sparkles! Also, if you planning on getting the factory spoiler you better get one now as the other dealer in town said they have sold 500 of them and they are starting to back order them!

I’m sure that aftermarket Spoilers will be introduced for the Corolla Hatchback soon.
So, What Spoilers are you guys going to run?

The production CE spoiler has been finalized and is currently on the white CE that was in the IG video a few days ago. Member @Magneto198 has the scoop and said he will try and post up a close up of the spoiler when he can.
I really liked the preproduction CE spoiler, but according to him, it was unstable at speeds in excess of 125mph, so they had to modify it. While still large, it's not as aggressive as the preproduction one was is what I'm understanding.
Anywho, I am CE or bust, so I'll rock the CE spoiler for the time being. I really liked the Cusco GRC spoiler they displayed at SEMA, that spoiler in combination with the Cusco Corolla hatchback mid spoiler is SEX! Not to be confused with the Cusco regular Corolla hatchback spoiler, which is nice as well, just not aggressive enough.
The OEM optional spoiler that you purchased is nice as well.

You and I are of the same mind on this! But it looks like Cusco has the mid spoiler listed as prototype! Ugh! Tom’s has one but it’s fatter, but still goes with the body lines…

‘Also….the “final” Circuit spoiler on the white CE looks exactly like the spoiler on the Circuit shown at SEMA. I think they are the same.

That's what I have on my wrx. I like big Wings and hope to see a WRC inspired wing for the GRC. There is this one they made for the GR Yaris which some people may not like but I think is pretty rad

It is much tougher for the GR Corolla to get a real WRC replica since there is no WRC corolla. So I can hope but I'm not very optimistic someone will make it. I'll go with the Cusco one initially

Thanks I like the current factory spoiler myself. I was at Sema and it’s funny because the GR Corolla that was at the TOYOTA booth was sporting the more original preproduction spoiler but it did look quite different.

Yup that's the one. You can see from the back that the spoiler has a slight dip from the edge. The original design was straight across. That small dip at each leading edge is what was confirmed for the final design. The tooling is already prepared and ready for production.

I just saw one in the flesh when I was out of town looking for land to buy. I was at a Valero pump that had 93 octane and a guy pulled up in one with that exact spoiler. It looked perfect for the GRC if you do a swap. I see no need to go aftermarket in this area.

What Toyota is calling a 'spoiler' on the GR Corolla Core is not a spoiler at all. It's part of the composite rear hatch, just like the regular Corolla Hatchback. I have the optional spoiler mentioned on mine. I'm sure all Corolla Hatchbacks, GR or not, have the same hatch.

I have major doubts Toyota manufactured an entirely new and bespoke composite rear hatch for the GRC. If they did I would imagine that would be a high talking point.

A new developments...

These part numbers are in the system but no idea what they look like, what price. Restricted for purchase at the moment.

Suggested List Price: 0.00
Stop Sales Flag: Yes, Blocked/PendApproval

PT938-12230-12 COR HB GR RWDSPL FLT BLK
PT938-12230-02 GRCOR RWSPLR BLK

The description text is exactly as they are in the system. It gives some hints but no specifics about it being a Circuit wing.

Yeah the “stop sales flag” is a control that toyota uses so that products aren’t released in the system for dealerships to purchase in case of defects, recalls or in this case a controlled release since it’s a limited product. With the part numbers “12230” indicates a GR Corolla and from what I’ve seen so far the 02 is for Morizo.

I am 100% adding a top hatch spoiler at some point. this car is begging for it. id love to have the circuit editions big spoiler but as mentioned, seems to be missing in press cars and even toyotas parts departments view. so not sure when or if that will be possible. however the aftermarket will have a field day with this car... so not worried.
BUT besides the spoiler, I do want the hood and vents. I mean...really completes the look of the car.

I agree 100%. I was looking at my GRolla from the side and I feel like it really needs the spoiler. It just looks like it's missing something.

Unfortunately, my iCloud storage is full and I’m dealing with that right now, but if you want to see my car, in all it’s glory, check out my YouTube channel HowToHeaven, where I have several videos of it! Thanks for your interest!

^ That looks a bit larger then the actual CE wing to me but I could be wrong.

Looks like the size of this WRC style wing Epsilon is working on releasing (I really like the smooth styling over the spikier looking wings). I need to see more aero dynamics testing though. I'm weary of negative impacts of large aero at high speeds -

Definitely hard to tell from the angles they give but I do agree it looks like it could be slightly larger than an actual CE wing. Either way I'm not paying $1200 for a tape-on Chinese knock off. Still interesting to see some options popping up!

I'm following Epsilon's progress, so far it's my favorite aftermarket design prototype I've seen.

You can get the XSE spoiler already painted, right? Anyone know if it's the same black that comes on the core? Car companies love making tiny variations in paint colors...

#41 ·
YMMV but I had a taped on spoiler on my last vehicle and the clear started lifting cause it was pre-painted from China.

Anyway when I removed the spoiler the outline of the spoiler basicslly etched itself into the car's clear coat. Needed to do some heavy cutting to remove the outline. No issues with the 3m vhb though.

Anyways make sure you buy unpainted and get it professionally painted if you go that route.

Epsilon prototype test fit

I honestly think this flows so much better with the body lines then the CE spoiler. Swoopy lines instead of spikey lines really help it visually blend with the wide quarters. I wish they included some images from the front but so far looks pretty slick.

I believe you are talking about the Circuit Edition spoiler being back ordered.
