Yeah, that was another concern of whether or not they would be using the correct oils. I just do not want them to be touching my car (cause a lot of people at dealers do not give a fuck about your car). I will bring it in if I REALLY have to, lol.

I know from experience that some lube techs (not all of course) are just kids..
My service manager I talked to, stated " I will put one my trusted techs" on the car LOL.

I just said ok, thanks, feel much better now hahaha.

Lube Techs, having worked in the automotive field, are in the bottom slot for positions in the Service Department and the most underpaid. So, yeah... they usually don't care. Speed and volume are what matter.

Also, considering the GRC isn't as readily available, I don't need my car to be the center of attention or need random "road tests" after service. I take our 2022 Sienna in for service, because who cares about driving a minivan, but a GRC??? I don't trust them. Lol.
Exactly!!

I still bring in my 21 RAV4 because, like you mentioned, who usually cares about an SUV/minivan? But GRC? Yeah, I don't need those random "road tests" either, lol.

Exactly the wifes rav and my taco are pretty run of the mill and get seen 017107109701x a week. The GRC is bascially one of one at my stealership.

Is general consensus full fluids after break in? Was thinking to just do engine oil, but now I'm on the fence...
You are going to get a lot of mixed reviews about whether you should worry about changing the other fluids besides engine oil, or to even change it at all (because break-in is not necessary, it already broke in during production, and/or it does not exist). Really up to you to decide at the end of the day! I did it for a peace of mind.

This is a very individual decision. I was a Toyota master tech for 35 years, and the amount of abuse and neglect inflicted by customers that the cars have somehow miraculously survived are a true testament to the durability and reliability of Toyota products. If you strictly followed the manufacturers recommended maintenance, the odds are very good that you'll never suffer a catastrophic failure of a component. However, I'm a firm believer that fluids are cheap and components are not. Even if the car does have a 60,000 mi 60 month powertrain warranty, I'd rather avoid making a claim for a component that grenaded itself, versus exercising my warranty coverage. I will personally change all the driveline fluids when I get to around a thousand miles. But I think your odds are good that the car will be just fine if you follow the factory recommended maintenance intervals, especially if you're not going to flog the car like a rented mule. Only you can put a value on peace of mind/ cheap insurance.

It looks kind of split. I figure it might not help, but likely doesn't harm as long as it is done properly and with the right fluids. Now my struggle is finding a shop that I trust to have the right fluids (for a relatively reasonable price).

I wanted to ask, hope i didn't overlook anything - how does one go about resetting the maintenance light on the vehicle? I did my break in oil change at 1,000 miles and was trying to reset the light the old way; hold ODO button and put vehicle into accessory mode while the mileage was displayed to no avail. I couldnt find anything within the vehicle info system to do so, unless I overlooked it. Look foward to gaining info via this forum and others.

Will be doing my fluids soon. How's access to the filler holes? Hand pump and tubing needed? Anyone have torque specs on the drain/fill bolts?
pump with tubing made it easy. I'm use to using them with my other cars but the transmission is easiest when you take the fender lining off. the fluid from the transmission comes out like water, so be mindful of that. I made a mess 😓

i picked up a Gr Corolla Oil Filter P/N 90915-YZZN1
this thing is tiny af

ive been using redline for 20 years in my toyota transmissions and diffs. however this is my first toyota transfer case. these are what i have on order:
transfer and diff: 75W85 GL-5 Gear Oil
transmission: MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 Gear Oil
I actually saw a a website that said our oil filter is P/N 90915-YZZN2, I found The source and it was referencing the GR Yaris
