I just finished installing a set of 17x9 +25 Konig Hypergrams on my GRC. Currently wrapped in Conti ExtremeContact Sport 02 in a 275/40R17. The wheel mounts fine and the provided lug nuts from Tire Rack got about 9-10 turns out of them. Otherwise zero rubbing and it all fits perfectly. Yes, I'm aware that I am ultimately giving up steering response over say a 245/255 tire. But for a street car I like having more protection and truthful the 02s provide a comparable immediate response to the 235/40R18 PS4 tires.

Since the image broke, here's a gallery of the fitment.
spacers still in?

oh wow, that's awesome! Do any of your 18" offerings also work without extended studs?
Yes! All of our GR Corolla-compatible fitments work without extended studs. Only the original run of our 18x8.5" ET23 VS-5RS had lug holes too small for a 60° shank style lug nut to fit. We've since sold through that first batch and any of that fitment going forward has the revised lug holes.

Nice! That's great. Thanks for all the info! Btw, the website still mentions needing longer studs on everything which is why I was under that impression

Do you know the closest spec to stock we can get with these 17 in hypergrams? This is the route I want to take but would prefer closer to stock width. Never did wheels before so I haven't got much clue on what to look for, I do recall someone here tried x8.5 with a 35 offset and that didnt work.

Konig hypergrams 17x8 +35 will not fit (barrel is fine, but the back of spokes contact)

I didn’t realize until after my purchase and winters mounted 😵

if I get +20mm spacers and throw them on the front, will my car explode? I’d guess that I’d want them on the rear as well to maintain a square settup, but is that much spacer a problem for these cars? Does anyone have experience with spacers not having enough stud for good purchase?

At this point, I just want to drive the thing. Extended lugs will be a real PITA to mess around with in winter, outside.
What route did you end up going?

Yeah, I think I'm going with Apex SM-10RS in stock width. I think going 1" smaller in diameter still keeps me in stock class for Autocross. I have to pull the trigger before the sale ends, though...

@BossHyperion
-5x114.3 ✅
-56.1mm center bore ❌ ours is 60.1mm
-Brake clearance likely good since it clears brembos
-offset is 53mm which much higher than our stock 30mm which is also on a 1/2” wider wheel. So these will be much more narrow and would benefit from spacers.

Otherwise it’s a great wheel! I have a pair of wheels designed for a Subaru that I plan to try using a low grit cylinder hone on to get the additional 4mm center bore (2mm of material to be removed).

FYI: I have a set of 17x8 +53 2011-2014 wrx wheels that I used for my crosstrek when I tracked it. But needed to get adapters when I used them on the is300 due to different PCD 5x100 and CB 56.1. they're enkei cast and do not fit the fronts with a 25mm adapter due to the barrel. It won't go past the dust shield.

The Fast Tactic 17" mags came off last weekend after their first Quebec winter (~6000km driven), and as predicted in this thread, the tight clearance with the caliper means that small rocks and debris can wedge themselves between the caliper and the mag, scraping both.

The white arrows indicate the scrapes (which don't yet go all the way around the inside of the mag), and the non-darkened circles indicate the contact point on the calipers.

The white arrows by the weights indicate just how far outboard they need to be installed so as not to interfere. Notice the adhesive just inboard from the weights: that's where the shop installed them on their first pass, which didn't clear.

Overall, the Fast Tactic 17" mags have been great for the winter (see my post earlier in this thread) despite the occasional contact. For those considering them, be aware that they'll leave their mark even with normal street use.

Thanks for detailed response, might see if I can find some spacers to make these fit, will post back here with results.

I figured youd chime in to assist, thank you. Im not tracking whether Apex has them for sale. Id prefer to only buy lug nuts if possible.
Completely understandable. Most owners are leaning this way.

There are quite a few lug nut options out there that will work with our wheels. We also have an in-house lug nut option on the way that should be arriving very soon, so keep an eye out for that as well!

I’ve got a set of 17” BBS wheels off an ‘07 STI, anybody know if these will fit? Obviously the rubber is junk but would be nice to use these for a set of winter wheels
someone else on here did a test fit and says the barrel of the wheel itself is what doesn't clear the brakes.

if you try and come up with a different conclusion let us know.
