Did you ever install that air duct? How was the fit for you??? Mine is more than a little off.
I installed the new air inlet also, been on my car for a month. It does not fit the greatest! I have heard from a couple others the same, so glad it is not just me. After 3 weeks it began chirping a ton. I took some weatherstrip foam and resealed the box, it looks ok, if that fails I have more foam. The foam from Forge was not very hi quality. I also put another piece of foam on the actual air inlet to stop the vacuum line from rubbing and chirping. I also put a zip tie on the small little bracket to make it a little more secure, as the one push pin does not really cut it. Been driving the car for about a week now and no problems! Would I buy this piece again knowing what I know about the fitment now? Well of course, yes! :)

I remember reading about the CEL codes with the Eventuri. I don't want to deal with the headache of it all. Also, I like that forge uses the bottom half of the stock intake. I thought that was cool. But yeah...mostly about the known CEL code with the Eventuri.
That's exactly why I went with the Forge parts, I think the Eventuri looks amazing, sounds amazing, but I did not want to worry about the CEL!

I think Cel code issue is fixed, from one of the 50+ videos I watched on the Grrolla. You can also just ride with the code and the engine adjust itself without limp mode (with code showing although). I just want something of quality but either way a bit more power. I need to pay off credit cards and want to get intake after all that is handled anyway. Hopefully get more reviews from this forum !

Now also has begun making contact with the inside of the hood and putting little scratches on the duct and taking paint off the hood. I have attached foam to the inside of the hood on the 2 little spots it is doing it. Pretty upset with Forge for advertising that their part is interchangeable with the GR Yaris and our car, when it sort of kind of is not.

I 100% agree with you. I was equally disappointed which is why I will eventually replace mine with Eventuri. Although the new MST CAI looks interesting and worth a look.

Initially the Eventuri one caught my eye, it is super pricey tho and had check engine light issues galore (sure that has been fixed now). Also, really digging the MST V2 one, love how it has that new panel that clips onto the box! I also heard it will be like half the price of the Eventuri, which is great (I only went carbon with Forge bc that is all that is offered). Think for now I am going to put the stock inlet on and just keep the Forge upper airbox. Not sure if I would try to sell the Forge inlet piece as it does not fit, and I don't want another GRC owner dealing with hit bashing up the hood and constantly squeaking (no matter what you try), and just mark it up as a loss, it happens....

Is everyone running the Forge intake duct having issues with it rubbing on the hood??
Yes, that is correct. It damages the part and takes paint off the hood. It happened to me and I saw another person who had the same issue. I am currently talking to Forge and I guess they are sending me a return label? Their customer service is lacking at best…If you had the same issues email forge with pictures. So far they are trying to make it seem like only myself and 1 person had an issue, although it is a product issue as it does not fit correctly on the GR Corolla.

That’s unfortunate, as I really like the design! Just wanted some clarity on the fitment issues before placing an order.

guess I’ll lean towards the eventuri, although I’ve seen a couple places say the metal air scoop moves a lot and can make noises( that and not sure if they’ve cleared up the CEL issue). Guess I’ll keep waiting🤷🏻‍♂️

Might want to look into the MST V2 set up! If I could do it all over I may have just gone that route. It is new but looks like some really cool engineering.

This is a great idea. I’ll email Forge to let them know that it’s not only you. I had to put a black foam circular sticker (meant for drawers) on the snorkel as well as the hood to stop it from rubbing. Trying to find a solid solution to it. I don’t want to return it though. Already accepted it as part of an early adopter problem. But you’re right. It doesn’t fit the GRC as advertised on their website. They should tell you it won’t fit properly and will cause rubbing issues.

It looks nice, but it will continue to damage the hood as well as the part itself unfortunately, and I just can't accept that. Recently Milltek is handling the operation of Forge US now. I called last week and actually had good customer service! So it does appear they will refund my the $500 for it! Glad I didn't cut that panel, I would have been extra mad.

Are you returning the part? Just going to run the stock snorkel? Did they say anything about making it fit for the GRC better?

It looks like Forge is going to refund me, as they said it is in fact a fitment issue. For now I put the stock snorkel back on, as I cannot stand the Forge inlet getting damaged and my hood getting damaged, and it squeaking and me having to find remedies weekly for it, enough was enough sadly.

For now I will leave the stock part on. I am waiting for Velossa Tech Design to come out with their air inlet. So far they only have it for the normal Corolla, but someone shared a video of them working on the GR one. I would imagine Forge will have to modify the inlet to fit on the GR Corolla or will have to stop marketing that it fits the GRC. Just a bummer, not enough testing was done and they just assumed it would work, they are beginning to deal with a lot of unhappy customers, they already are and more to come I'm sure.

I did get the refund from Forge finally! Ordered the Velossa Tech Big Mouth Lit Kit, they just released it for the GRC, before was only for the normal Corolla. Part looks cool and is $100 cheaper, plus will fit on the car properly!
