Maybe they've been reading here? I didn't like the OEM when I first got the car. I have not yet seen a good view of the assembled Big Mouth, to see how they worked the secondary duct to feed off the primary intake scoop. It seems like a choke point to have the big scoop join, then split again to feed the airbox ports. But that's what it takes to have a bolt-on product with no cutting.

@DNR_Medic , Are you going to do a shiny red secondary duct as well?

Ya I am watching all of this .🤪 Just waiting to see what develops. might spring for the big mouth cause it’s only a couple hundred. By far the cheapest pre made option

I wasn't sure what needed to be trimmed for the rad cover, so I didn't print it. But looking at it after installing the snorkle I see what needs to be trimmed.

Also I swear intake and blow off valve noise are slightly louder after the snorkle install.

Finally went back into OnShape and modified the primary duct to fit outside the stock airbox opening, removing the area with the smallest cross section. Inlet is a tiny bit larger as well.
It is titled GR Corolla Primary Airbox Duct V3 Outside. (There's also a design in there for a front brake pad shim, if you have a cnc cutter and some titanium)

V3 with the female primary duct socket on the car. Pardon the winter-beater dirt. The secondary duct is a bit oversized where it hooks over the flap housing, I stuck some foam tape on the inside to tighten it up. Two ducts going over the radiator support gives more flow area to the airbox.

I cut the radiator cover trim a bit too much and ended up patching it with the piece I cut out. I've since recontoured the secondary duct inlet to better fit under the flat portion of the radiator cover trim, so the patch should not be needed if you trim carefully. You want the trim to sit over the inlet and hold it in place. You could use some RTV at the joints to make it more secure.

There's not room under the air box to make a bigger transition from the flap opening to the duct, and not much more room over the radiator support to make the ducts bigger if you keep the OEM grille scoop, but I think this should have enough combined area to not restrict flow much. A few bucks worth of filament and you can have cold air to the airbox.
