New M2!

The new M2 starts at only $63,195.
Dare I say only $13,000 more than the Morizo Edition Corolla.
The M2 in my opinion is way way more car for the money than the GRCME, but it just doesn't look good to me. Too squared off.
I'm sure it would be a blast drifting it around a racetrack, and destroying the rear tires.
Looks like BMW copied Hyundai's WRC teams rally paint color here.

Bit of a mish mash that's for sure. The front intakes remind me of my kitchen sink.

Not my cup of tea for something that will cost NZD$175,000 over here.

Available in like 5 colours, one of which is the Hyundai Blue, are BMW still pissed much that Albert Biermann left them ?

Got to give them points for putting up the info on the car way before its even available.

$175,000 for an f-ugly M2?
INSANITY.
Do you gents in NZ also get screwed on buying used cars too, or is it only when uou buy new?

Actually we don't get screwed buying new cars here anymore, it totally depends on what you buy.

A number of brands are the same price here as elsewhere when you do a currency conversion and pretty sure our Toyota GRC pricing will probably be better than yours by the time you guys get screwed for the ADM.

Very hard to directly compare models that "Look the same" because you would really have to drill down in the spec's to see what exactly it is you are buying.
We don't get the pleasure of ADM's in Canada, that's saved for the gents in the good old US of A.

It's absurd. So much unecessary BS exists in cars these days. Even the GRC. I could do without the adaptive cruise (radar module) as well as Blindspot detection (sonar modules) plus I think I read adaptive high beams? Which uses a forward camera, typically above the rearview mirror. All those associated modules and wiring could be removed for weight savings.

The land of the free, right? That's what I keep hearing.
Unfortunately no one is really free these days.
All you have to do is book a flight ✈ and go through TSA.
Free as a bird.😉

I don't think removing these things will shave off that much weight - maybe maximum 50lbs. Most of the weight is from safety regulations I'm pretty sure.
If most of the weight is from regulations, then how in the world can Mazda make their Miata at 2,410 lbs?
Magic I guess.
Also, why can't BMW make a great looking M2?
Mazda hit it out of the park with the ND.

I actually really like this. Maybe it's just bc I'm young
If you're young, you probably also liked the previous generation Civic Type R with all the wings and fake Vents and everything.
I'm an old fart, so I much prefer the Classic lines of this:

Rather than the sharp cuts and lines of a modern sports car like this:

If I lived in a convertible-friendly climate, I would have kept my ND2. Part of why I sold my GR86 is because I kept comparing the two in my head and the Miata was just a better sports car.
Since selling my Ariel Atom a while ago, I'm itching to get back into a really small, great handling back to basics sports car.
These days the ND Miata is my only option, unless I go for something like this:

Yes the

Well part of the reason it’s light is because it’s tiny. Lots of road noise also which means there is very little insulation. Ever sat in a miata?, it’s Claustrophobic. Sure is beautiful though, just wish it was 25% bigger, inside and out.
If the Miata was 25% bigger, then it wouldn't be a Miata.😉
I owned and very much enjoyed an Ariel Atom for 7 years, so a Miata feels just right to me, even luxurious, just wish it had 230hp and it would be perfect.
I think most cars in general are getting way too big, but unfortunately so is the general public.
The Miata is designed for healthy sized adults, and not for extra large drivers, who fit much better in full sized SUV's and pickup trucks.
It is what it is, a street legal go-kart for adults that are kids at heart.
