Led door strip

Hi guys I want to hardwire a couple of door strip leds which come on when the interior lights comes on, so basically when opening the door etc.
Is it ok to solder the positive and negative wires to bulb holder location? Then run the wire through the headliner down the plastic pillar to the door.

You could tap there for a matching voltage, but you would need to know if any delay/dimming/control circuitry feeding it could handle the extra strip's current draw. Maybe use that tap to run a relay to control the lights? Personally if I was using that location, I would pull the board out and solder leads to the PCB somewhere so as not to compromise the lamp socket.

What kind of car is this? A Yaris?

My '25 GR Corolla doesn't have bulbs in the dome light. The LEDs are soldered to the circuit board. The buttons look different, too.

Yaris doesn't have the same dashboard design as Corolla. I think OP's car is a standard Corolla E210 (non-GR version)
