Said it before and I'll say it again...formula for a FREE MY24 GRC core .
Requires you to be 1st on a dealers list somewhere for the MY23 GRC (preferably at guaranteed MSRP).
1. Purchase the MY23 CE
2. Get back on the list for a MY24 Core GRC (again at MSRP if possible)
3. Store MY23 CE in a climate controlled setting until the MY24 Cores are available for purchase.
4. Post up the unmolested/undriven MY23 CE on BaT with a BUY It Now for $85k.
5. Use the $40k profit you just made on your MY23 CE and buy your MY24 GRC Core straight cash.

You are welcome!
See you joke about this but that is essentially what happened with the Dodge Demons. 84k MSRP and 120-130k with under 1k miles after a year. I would have loved to make that investment.

I mean I was half heartily joking, but would not be surprised if it was a reality.

I want one, i can afford one, but im not willing to pay a crazy adm. i want an ME and am willing to pay the msrp, but not a ridiculous markup. Toyota indicated they intend to make as many as there is demand “minus one” so i dont think theyll be super rare. I have no need to be first so will wait. Our dealer advertises as msrp, just have to wait on allocations. The frs/gt86 exceeded my expectations of how long theyd produce the model, so hopes are good tge grc will stick around for a while.

That limiting production stuff was marketing guys. That wasn’t real.

I’ll go into why later, but that was a terrible thing to say on their part. Truth is? it’s built in Motomachi, with the method they use to build this car and the Yaris, you can’t scale it beyond “mass produced” vehicles at the moment. Motomachi also closed on and off throughout the year due to shortages so they’re backed up.

In reality they should’ve just said the truth instead of putting pressure on themselves like that and giving dealerships more of a reason to be greedy.

I thought they said they were only going to produce 200 Morizo editions.
That seems very limited to me, but I could be wrong.
My salesperson said, "to be completely honest with you, I don't think you'll have any chance at all of getting a Morizo Edition."
I like the fact that at least she's being honest with me not that I wanted one in the first place though I'd rather have the circuit Edition as my first choice.

200 for the first year, possibly more in the following years depending on demand. But I would figure at least 200 every year the GRC is available.

Yup, intention was stated to have the ME every year, but if sales tanks, who knows. I sure hope it continues!

I’m talking about that “one too few” comment where they purposely make a certain amount of GR Corolla’s in general to maintain the hype/prestige or whatever and they could make more but don’t want too. Truth is they can only pump out so many.

I am sensing you are connected to Toyota somehow someway. But I have seen that when the GR YARIS was initially released, Toyota DID NOT expect the demand to be as big as it was. And that they did in fact rectify this by continuing to make more then they proposed. Not alot more. But enough to justify the demand it seems. As it is still in production etc. Harry from Harry's garage talks about it in this video below. Also gives some good insight into how a yaris holds up after a year and they talk about the drivetrain too.

I get that Toyota is ONLY planning to make 6500? 5500? GRC's per year.

(since the original thread got shut down?) Now that pricing has come out, I’ve been seeing a lot of discussion about ADMs and the minimum people will stomach. I’m curious how much people value the CE.

So the question is (both guaranteed), would you get a fully loaded Core at MSRP or would you pay $5k ADM for a Circuit Edition?

That depends on the person for sure. I don’t believe in paying adm.

But even though I prefer how the core looks over the CE, if I could get either for MSRP and they were right in front of me, I’d take the CE.

I tried to communicate this on the last GRC thread on /r/cars the other day since that's all people would talk about and it went about like you'd expect lol. They're just set on being mad over there.

I will not pay ADM for either. I don’t believe it. Partly because of my wallet as in I will not overpay for anything in life. Two, it really disrespects and screws over your fellow enthusiasts. The more that pay it the more it affects some consumer who really wants the car and is already stretching themselves to pay the MSRP. I’m high on a list a dealer. They charge MSRP only. My “want” is the CE like many. But in your scenario or choice, I’m taking the loaded core. The CE is merely a cosmetic trim to me as at the end of the day a loaded core has the same engine, drivetrain, brakes, and I don’t think the 9 lb weight saving of the CF roof is going to matter on road or track.

The 9lb weight savings on the roof is offset by the bigger head you get for owning a limited edition CE ;)

I don't believe in paying ADM. I am never that desperate for anything. If Circuit has ADM I will happily pass and go Core at Msrp.

I’d take the loaded core in this scenario as well, but mostly out of principle if the ADM is forced. I’m shooting for a CE at MSRP though.
