Engine Stopped - Steering Power Low

Just got this error twice it (disappeared before I could take a photo) within 20 minutes of each other when I went to go play in the snow. First was literally just pulling out of my garage, didn't even get to the street until it powered off and threw the message. Second time was in the middle of a donut. What the heck; anyone else seen or gotten this message?

Edit: have a video from the dashcam when it triggered. I did notice that the engine wouldn't rev up much right before the error occured, both times. Also found some posts about this happening in other Corollas when wipers are activated and one of them triggered when I used the wiper to clean the windshield. The other (when I was leaving the garage) I didn't have the wipers on but did have heat, seat and steering wheel heaters on as well as lights and fog lights. Battery better not be a problem because it's only be used for 1,500 miles and 3 months since I got the car a̶n̶d̶ ̶B̶.̶ ̶w̶h̶y̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶h̶e̶l̶l̶ ̶w̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶p̶o̶w̶e̶r̶ ̶s̶t̶e̶e̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶b̶e̶ ̶p̶o̶w̶e̶r̶e̶d̶ ̶b̶y̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶b̶a̶t̶t̶e̶r̶y̶?̶!̶

Just an FYI that sounds kind of related. I have accidentally stalled my car twice since I've had it. Both times I tried to take off in 3rd gear due to lack of attention to shifting into 1st... talking, not driving .

Both times, the error on the display said something to the effect that the power steering voltage was too low and I should take the car to the dealer for repair. Car started right up and error cleared immediately.

Just over 400 miles on my '25 and this code and engine stall occurs each time I'm coasting in neutral coming from highway speeds. I'm afraid that at some point I won't notice the stall and shift into gear.

Cripes.

That's a little alarming, does your engine stall at any other time? I'd get the stalling figured out ASAP.

Agreed, glad the steering wheel hasn't locked yet either.

It's at the dealer this morning.

Irony for me is this GR replaced another Corolla that Toyota USA re-purchased from me under the Lemon Laws in my State.

It's still a mechanical rack and pinion, so steering should still work as long as the car is "turned on" even if the engine isn't running- you just lose power assist. Turning the car off is what engages the steering lock.

Hydraulic power steering systems obviously requires the engine to be running to provide power assist, but apparently the GRC has a circuit that behaves similarly and turns off the EPAS system when the engine isn't running. This might be to prevent draining the battery in minutes from powering the EPAS motor.

Yep, but then again if the system was working as designed, I don't think we'd be here. I'm not smart enough to guess the next failure or to know there won't be one.

I'll be sure to update this if the dealer has any answers. It was fairly easy for me to re-create so hopefully that can help if they say all is good.
