On my way to work this morning, I was pulling away from a stop sign pretty much WOT, and after shifting into 2nd gear the car feel on its face with some sort of spitting noise coming from exhaust. No CEL, no warnings, nothing. After that it drove normal and would give me full power. This is like the 3rd times its done it to me, always WOT in 1st or 2nd gear.

I've done a little research, and some people are saying it might be faulty ignition coils? And I dont thinks its fuel starvation as I had a 3/4 tank of gas.

Anyone else's cars doing this? Its a 2023 GRC. Thanks for any info.

Swapped mine out and no issues yet. Below is a pic of the OE installed coil. Note the PN 90919-02277. This has been superseded by 90919-A2010. I am not sure of the difference internally, but there is some confirmation of change.

I got some cusco coil packs ordered. They were the same price as toyota ones. But it is interesting to see that they probably made some changes. That's good.

Just keep in mind a superseded PN doesn't necessarily indicate an improved part. It could be due to a number of factors that have nothing to do with the quality of the part itself, like an internal vendor change, or packaging to use less plastic. Without revision documents or an A/B comparison it's nearly impossible to know what changed. I'm not saying get old PNs, but don't make the assumption it's a functional improvement.
