Caught my eye:

Core:
Active Noise Control
Active Sound Control

Premium:
Dual zone climate controls

Premium Plus:
CF roof
Bulge hood
Subradiators
HUD
Red stitching
ASC is that fake engine noise. 😂

Cliffnotes:
  • Stiffer springs
  • Different shocks
  • Rear trailing arm mount changed to reduce squat
  • Sub-radiator on the left side
  • No change to AWD cooling, verified directly with Toyota
  • Drive modes are more or less the same but renamed
“What's more, the GR Corolla makes the central GR Four torque settings a little less tenuous and a lot more user-friendly. Whereas before it had three settings (60:40, 50:50, 30:70), it was left up to you to choose the right one for the job. That has now been scrapped and replaced with Normal (60:40), Gravel (50:50), and Track (variable from 60:40 through 30:70) for a much clearer explanation. You may have noticed that there is a continuously variable torque split for the Track setting, as there should have been all along.”

These sound like meaningful upgrades to the older models
The shocks and springs I didn't care for because of the aftermarket options, but the rear trailing arm is curious. It is mounted an inch higher.

My gut tells me this isn't a bolt on change and actually may be a chassis difference but I'm not sure.

This video shows the new mount for the trailing arm. It's the flat black item he skips over.

Edit: I believe you would just replace part #(48727-10010) with the new one and any new parts to be updated. Just a guess.

That would be awesome. Hopefully we'll know soon.

so from what I saw on that table , springs shocks, not a big deal coilovers solve that issue. He a different rear trailing arm plates there which means it bolts in and has the pickup point on the plate an inch higher aka when can add it, Torque splits on the diff? hmmm that might be a preference, thing. Heads up? meh, Front bumper ya looks too busy . Power nothing s few mods and tune might fix.
Happy they made the auto more people will buy the car thereby leading to more parts longevity. In the end kind of a give and take I could see where some might consider it better. Its really kind of ya wish I had got a few things don’t care about some of it or prefer not😂
Solid upgrade yes does it make regret buying mine already no.

By the way did they sacrifice the fog lights? 😂

^ As someone with no skin in the game yet, I find both front ends somewhat unattractive from a front-on view, but the new one looks more interesting from an oblique or (especially) side view (as seen in that video above). The new fascia does make the car appear wider and less boxy, a bit more aggressive in stance.

The real jaw-dropper here is what was not upgraded, the centre diff cooling. All of this blah blah about the secondary rad while the real issue got completely ignored. Total fail Toyota... And it seems like nothing was done to address the understeer at the limit that various reviewers have found to be a weakness of the OEM setup.

1. I agree, I like the ‘meaner more menacing’ older design of the front end compared to the ‘smiley face’ new front end
2. I agree - they should have addressed the coupler overheating issue (but then again, the GRY has been around a long time and they haven’t done anything about it there either; maybe it would take a total redesign?
3. They know how to make it neutral/rotate easily if they want. I have a ME bone stock and it’s very neutral when pushed (and easy to make it rotate at the limit). The stiffer springs and retuned dampers and much stiffer rear springs on the ME fix the understeer issues (but the ride on bad NE roads is stiff for certain)
4. I am against any type of piped in engine audio. It’s just dumb and I don’t want that shit!
