How to easily and instantly correct the grill problem on an MY25 Ice Cap GRC (if you zoom in you'll see I clearly did not know how to properly use 3m knifeless tape first time around lol)

Picked up my red 2025 GR Corolla Premium MT Monday, commuted to work all week then took it out yesterday for a 80-mile drive on twisty canyon roads. I am simply amazed at what Toyota has accomplished. It's like they were listening to me over the years when I was describing the vehicle I wanted. I feel no need for any performance and handling related modifications. It's just that good.

It kicks some serious ass on the backroads. My brother has an ITS and I have the GRC and we drove them back to back, and they're super different but great to compare. He got the GRC to rotate and slide the rear slightly on one 90deg turn and it was amazing lol.

It is truly a super fun car and that was keeping it under 5k which barely allows for WOT.

The handling dynamics are so intuitive and natural that I was rotating it into 25-mph marked curves and drifting it through them within minutes of setting out, laughing all the way. The GRC is more fun than any other car I've driven on those roads, which includes Miatas, a Focus ST, a Focus RS, Mustangs, as well as a slew of other more pedestrian cars. And like you, I'm taking it easy on the engine through the break-in period.

wow yup that does look better now just do the whiskers and it will actually start to look much better. still not a fan at they rounded off the front edge of fender flare on the bumper with hard line . But hey I am nitpicking don ‘t mind me😂

This thread is great. Thanks everyone for your supply of info and photos. This makes my decision on what year to get even tougher. Damn it. I really like heads up display. Someone tell me it sucks. Please? lol
It's incredible lol, but it's a pain in the ass to figure out. the user manual doesnt say how to change the content it displays and i havent had time to dig into it. but even putting that aside, its awesome and a feature i truly enjoy.

Ugh! I hate you. Thanks. It only shows a small bit of info, right? Speed, small tach? Right? RIGHT!?
Three modes: full, normal, and limited (I might be off on verbiage), and it can display a lot of stuff: speed, rpm, gear, driver aids, directions, media, and I'm probably missing some items.

Ok I will give you a different perspective on heads up display it will break. It’s bound to be an issue down the road . we are not driving fighter jets , it’s a gimmick last thing I want to be looking through when driving track or canyons is a display in the middle of my windshied showing data. Ya I get ffighter jets function with it but they also have a shit ton of other things on and quite honestly the whole instrument layout is way different.
In a nutshell it’s kind of a gimmick that can sell the car. i understand certain people seem to love it or want but ya . It would not be high on my priority list in fact I would hazard to say it would be a thing I did not want one less thing to break when going without . Heads up display in Cars is not new Nissan was doing it in Silvia’s/240sx coupes in the early 90’s show me one of those with a still functioning heads up display and I will show you a super rare bird.
Ya no😂

Fair point, but if we wanna go that route, that notion will apply to any pure tech component from the all digital dashboard to the multimedia display to the even the safety features. Yes the HUD isn't mandatory and it can be seen as a gimmick (perhaps it is a gimmick), but it's definitely a choice to view it as useless because it will eventually fail when any tech or mechanical component has some kinda mean time between failure, Lol. Now if the user is trying to buy the GR top package only for the HUD, that's also a choice. We simply aren't in an era where every is analog and semi repairable to a limit.

Not attacking your perspective! Just giving mine lol.

I have a 2025 Premium Plus with the HUD hopefully arriving in a few weeks. My preferred alternate spec was a Premium trim with the subcooler option but my dealer notified me that the Premium Plus allocation was arriving first so I pulled the trigger. I fall into the camp of being indifferent: I've driven multiple street and race cars and have never had one with a HUD display. I suppose it's always better to be looking up as opposed to down but your peripheral vision over time should do the trick without it. Better resale I guess? Looks cool at night? Can it play Pac Man?

I get it I will toss in this caveat though.. 90% of way the Silvia/240sx heads yo display could not be used is you could no longer buy the proper windshield for it.

Now if Toyota has managed to ace by allowing the heads up to project onto a standard windshield bravo. If not …The windshield for the heads up displya cars will be most likely more expensive to replace and possibly be disco’d in the future. Just saying lol.

Oh and ya sure our dash is digital and your caveat is tossing in more digital thing is no big deal but I can say ya but one less digital thing to toss in is one less digital thing to fail😂 touche😜

oh and this all in good fun.

We have the HUD in our Lexus RX450h+ and I really like it, but i couldn't see spending the money for the Premium plus to get it when I didn't want ANY of the other features offered with the P+ except the Sub-Radiator, which is optional on the Premium, though my Premium doesn't have that. I figured i could always add the Sub-Radiator later.

I still haven't gotten it to show tach and gear.
On reddit someone said you have to disable adaptive cruise control. Try that

Edit: try that and using Full HUD mode. I've not got my GR yet so I understand it's not super in depth assistance

Edit 2: I now own a GR Premium Plus. You have to disable adaptive cruise control and LDA. When I did that it showed the tachometer so long as you're not in eco mode. If you wanna use eco drive mode and still have the Tach display on the hud, you'll have to use custom mode and set power train to ECO. That prevents the eco gauge from showing on the HUD in place of the tachometer.
