I put mine in the little rubberized tray behind the E-brake (where there's a useless armrest in most other cars). It's probably a bit small for most phones, but mine fits perfectly (iPhone 11 Pro). Kind of awkward to reach for, but Carplay does everything I want while driving.
I found this was perfect for my phone. Between my case and the rubber, I can second that on a very spirited drive it does not move. I ran a USB plug down the passenger side center console to the back and it works flawless controlling my device

The bag Grumbly mentioned arrives today, for like $7 I figured why not. All these other Amazon options have been added to my watchlist. :)

I've got the same storage problems as most here. My phone has a steel pad on the back for a Rennline magnet phone mount in my old 911, and my wife needs a spot forher phone as well. Add a couple of coffees and any storage is gone. I looked at all of the offerings on Amazon that jam into seat cracks, not for me. I found this one and really like it so far. It even looks right with white stitching. And you get two for $26. The goal is to leave zero marks and have it removable some day. I cut a piece of flat aluminum stock that fits the center opening on the bottom of the holder and folded it over on itself. One part goes in the holder, the other under the GR console side. I secured it all with clear Gorilla double sided tape and used a felt furniture pad to stop rubbing on the console side. The only small problem is the passenger seat will not go as far forward as it usually does. Plus being plastic, it can be a little rattly depending on what you have in it. Just finished a crazy hot Texas summer and this hasn't moved at all. Might be a good solution for others.

Amazon.com works wonderfully
I've been looking for this one in my Amazon history so i could share it but it didn't come up as "toyota" or "mount" regardless of how many different keywords i tried. clicked your link and sure enough "Purchased another variation..."

Anyway, this is the one I use. It does block some of the air control interface (i can't see how strong my fans are going) but if i hit auto it doesn't matter much anyway. I replaced the holder with a 15w wireless charger holder i already had, works great.

Wow. I liked it. Until I saw the price. 😆
Yeah, I wouldn't call it cheap, buuuuut... they're insanely well made, metal, and the actual mount is custom.

It took me forever to find a solution for my 4Runner that didn't bounce all over or fall off when not on the highway. I had a Quad Lock arm mounted on the windshield for years, which blocked a lot of the view. Ended up finding this thing, and it's been the best phone mount I've ever used.

Another thing I didn't like about the Quad Lock is the proprietary phone case. So now I only use it on one of the motorcycles when I use it at all.

Happy to pay the extra for the Offroam unit.

A lot of words to agree with you, but say it's worth it.

My S22 Ultra in a DBrand case fits in the little charging well perfectly. It's a snug, positive fit, almost snaps in there. Charges (enough to keep a charge, if not necessarily add any), has plenty of signal for music and maps through Android auto.

All these other posts make me think that I don't want to upgrade my phone until I absolutely have to...

I have it plugged into the dashboard port to run Android Auto, it needs to be out "somewhere".
Does your phone not do wireless Android Auto? The car definitely does (hallelujah).

+1. My Pixel 7 in a case fits there like it was made for it and never moves an inch, even during "spirited driving". Same phone/same case WILL charge in the qi charger, but I use a rapid charger plugged into the power port when I need it. If the wife and I both need our phones charged, whoever needs it the least gets the qi.🙄

How has no one said glove box yet? If I’m on the road long enough that I need to charge that’s where it goes with a cable routed through the dash. In the glove box you don’t need worry about leaving it it view when you stop and need to ho i. somewhere for a few minutes.

Daily driving, it stays in my pocket.

I bought one of these for my wife's Tacoma as she'd been through multiple cheaper options but they all rattled or came loose or sucked in different ways. this one is by far the best solution and was worth the price (as much as it hurt!). It's sturdy and doesn't rattle, and you can put your phone in and out one handed.
