Hiya! Checking in from Seattle here. I'll be updating this post with various resources for the motorheads here!

Avants - Car Enthusiast Club, magazine. Membership also gives you access to discounts for partners in the area

Northwest Rally Association - PNW Rallycross events

Evergreen Speedway - Monroe, WA - Oval track that also hosts AutoX

NorPac Rally Group - FB group for Rallycross and Stage Rally enthusiasts in the area

Feel free to suggest other resources for enthusiasts here, or just check in and say hi!

Kent, checking in. Any thoughts on local dealers? Seattle wasn't doing anything, and I'm 8th at Doxon in Auburn. Can't wait to explore my area (see: bomb up Tiger Mtn) with the new car.

Is Avants worth it? I'd love to know your thoughts

Tacoma here. Need to wait for the automatic to be announced, so I haven't even contacted a dealership yet.
Same here!

I'm most familiar with the dealer from Lake City. I buy a lot of parts from them for my MR2 Spyder. Bryce is pretty cool.

Don't have much experience with anyone else, but I'm not a huge fan of the Bellevue one. They wanted $190 to program a plain transponder key for a 20-year-old car, and they weren't even sure they could do it. That's nuts!

Any dealers you've had good experiences with?

If you go to Doxon (Auburn), ask for Ken Thompson. He was super helpful and I was recommended to him by friends who worked there for a while. Was simultaneously told to stay away from Liban, in that he’d be untruthful in order to get you into a car.

I (and I believe another forum user here) got our reservations at Toyota of Burien at MSRP. $1000 refundable deposit.

Avants can be worth it if you take advantage of the discounts and partners. I believe you also get a pretty nice car detailing package that's apparently worth it alone (I haven't gotten mine yet). I also like the community from who I've interacted with. I ran into a member with a fancy Porsche 911 at a bar, but he was still stoked about my little commuter car that I race 😅

Yeah lmao, I didn't realize how bad this was until I did more research. Salesman was trying to tell me I should expect it next year. Thankfully, I am now 1st on the list at Aberdeen Toyota
I'm calling Aberdeen Toyota first thing tomorrow. Do you know if they do markups? I'm like 30-something in line at Marysville Toyota, so I highly doubt I'll get it in the next few years if at all. Really banking on a bulk of those deposits being withdrawn lol.

Based on how the focus RS ended up and just the general coverage surrounding this car, I'd honestly be shocked if any of these dealerships ended up getting more than 15 of the cars in its lifespan.

Edit: btw if anybody knows any other msrp dealers that'll take deposits and will accept a buyer from Seattle hmu lol

I reserved at Burien. When I was ready to reserve, they are the only one taking deposits like a week b4 the debut. I am with Avants since they were founded. I use their FCP EURO discount for my bimmer stuff and discount tire discount as well. However, no more discount tire discount. Expect to meet lots of Porsche guys if you join.
