Why did you buy it then?Honestly. I think its just i am not used to a small hatchback type car. Maybe in time if i add a bigger spoiler, a lip kit, lower it. Maybe that will give me the curb appeal i am looking for. And i was looking at the new mustang gt thats coming out. W my x plan discount i get it would be 40-41msrp. I dunno man. Still on the fence. Maybe getting rid of the zl1 2 weeks ago is still fresh on my mind.
and didnt need the extras. Never would use heated seats and not even going to track it
2024 mustang gtWhat's the next car you have on order? Find out what the dealer will give you on trade then sell it on cars % bids with at least that plus tax savings for a reserve. I doubt you lose much within the next month or 2
It’s not even rally inspired either. If you go into the car expecting a spicy econobox you’ll be satisfied. Definitely not a substitute for a dedicated sports coupe.Agreed with everyone here. Completely different cars, designed for different purpose. If you're expecting a high powered RWD performance from a GR Corolla, trade it in now and just take the L. This is a rally inspired car, that shines in all seasons and in turns.
I agree the dark horse does look sweet but I’m genuinely concerned about the markups regardless of the economy. 60k and then I’m gunna say 15k bsAre you in a state where you get tax relief on your trade-ins that can make a big difference as well.
The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse does look like a sweet ride, I would sell your GRC now and get the Mustang next year if I were you.
The only thing I can say is look at the builds for the base Corolla HB. All the kits, all the stuff Toyota pushed for the SEMA show back in 2018 (I think?). If nothing is inspiring - plan to get rid of the car. While the GR Corolla gets some new bits and bulges, the e210 platform is pretty flushed out already. From the aesthetics side, most of what will be on the market from a design standpoint is already there. It's just going to get modified to fit the GR Corolla mounting points and slight dimension changes. Though interesting it doesn't seem like it's the drive that's driving the decision, just the curb appeal? Japanese and American design philosophies are generally pretty different and the GR Corolla comes from the reserved econobox sleeper side of things.Honestly. My dealer was legit hounding me to trade my car in, within two years. And even the financing guy said the residual value on these GRs was insanely high. I wound up leasing my GR because I didnt want black, but knew they were not going to get many more in. So I leased it for two years, and got back onto the wait list for a 2025. And will just trade this one in etc. What's the next car you have on order? His doesn't have the PP, which is probably a big reason as to why it was at MSRP and why nobody wanted it.A dealer just happened to have a GRC at MSRP when you wanted a new car? No wait list or anything? Amazing. Most people on here can’t find one with ADM after being on a deposit wait-list for months.
Start job hunting. This is absolutely unacceptable. If my employer ever decided to cut my pay rather than increase it, I might just quit on the spot.my damn job cut my salary by 20-30%
Could be that their employer cut overtime. Some people add overtime to their salary for simplicity’s sake.Start job hunting. This is absolutely unacceptable. If my employer ever decided to cut my pay rather than increase it, I might just quit on the spot.
You could be right. It's not good to bank on overtime always being there for major financial decisions though.Could be that their employer cut overtime. Some people add overtime to their salary for simplicity’s sake.
It's a horrible plan to do that. I was a MoP for about 10 years, all of my direct reports were non-exempt (eligible for OT), every one of them trapped themselves by counting on that OT.You could be right. It's not good to bank on overtime always being there for major financial decisions though.
This. My local dealer got a non-PP core and after going through thr entire waitlist no one wanted it and it sat on the showroom floor at MSRP for a week until yesterday when someone bought it. It's very possible depending on the spec and market you're in.His doesn't have the PP, which is probably a big reason as to why it was at MSRP and why nobody wanted it.
Because the taxes can be factored into the financing. Depending on how much equity was in the ZL1, the monthly payment is likely lower for the GRC versus the ZL1. In addition, the cost savings on insurance, gas, and consumables (namely tires) are definitely lower on the GRC. All of these things help lower your monthly liabilities when your pay gets cut. This is just the practical side of me talking but if your salary was cut 20-30% why do you want to continue to pay more and more taxes by continuing to swap cars? Or even modify the car at all? GR Corolla, on a whole, (as much of this market) is incredibly expensive if all you need is transportation. Unless the other car order you have is something in the 20-30k range and even then I'm kind of curious what the strategy is here. Coming off a 650hp supercharged V8 to 300hp 1.6L is always going to be a disappointment. Haven't really seen a description of why the car isn't checking the right boxes for you so can't really say if the car even has the remote possibility of fulfilling what you're looking for.
In any case with a number of dealers coming down to $5k or lower markups today you're going to be hard pressed, imo, for your car to maintain its value because it doesn't have the LSD performance pack. The main consumer of that specific spec is the people who barely have enough money for the base car or people who want to modify it like crazy and put nicer LSD's in and not have the weight of the heating elements or tech package as they're tossing all the factory stuff into a bin gutting the car. Both of which are looking to buy the cheapest car they can find unfortunately
