Did mine in the Supra at Mid-Ohio. It is lots of fun. You don't drive with the other groups, just with other Toyota's who got the same invite, like GR86's. You do a few drills, and then do a few sessions culminating in a proper track session.

I wouldn't count on a special invite from Toyota directly, but I meant we would set up something on our own as enthusiasts. We always get shafted with such things anyways up here so no surprises.

I did a track day there once with KTM. It was some of the best money I ever spent! It was a fly and ride event. For $275 bucks, you showed up with all your riding gear and got to flog their RC8 all day long around mid Ohio. It was absolutely awesome! I would do it again in a heartbeat if they offered another one of those.

March 17 at Virginia International Raceway for me. HPDE INTRO cause I don't know how to drive 😅. Whole thing whould have cost $569. Yeek.

I have the freebie track day from my GR86 lined up in June at summit point and was wondering about that - if they try to keep all the Yota buyers together.

The plan is for my wife to take the GRC out for its track day. I was initially thinking for us to do the same day but more I think about it definitely best to do separate 😬

I did the same event (NASA Mid Atlantic June Joust) last year and they just lumped all of the GR guys into HPDE1. It was 4 proper lapping sessions with an instructor, point-by passing, and classroom instruction interspersed. Hopefully they run it the same way this year, a friend of mine did his at NJMP run by NASA North East and it was just 3 sessions of boring lead-follow.

Oh wow, yeah I see it could go either way depending on the turnout. I have a feeling it will be bustling though. Honestly I'll be relieved if it stays mellow all day and they don't cut me loose, so to speak.

I guess that explains why my track had openings for the day I wanted on the event's direct page, but they were listed as full on the Toyota invitation. womp womp

For you Texas folks I would suggest Cresson before MSRHouston. I’ve never been there but the CMRA races motorcycles there and I’m pretty sure it’s got some elevation.

Hey guys, I did have question on this. I received my track day notification but It was brought to my attention that If you race the car then any warranties on the car go out the window. Anyone have any information on this ?

"While the vehicle’s warranty excludes damage that results from activities such as misuse and racing, simply participating in National Auto Sport Association (NASA) High Performance Driving Events (HPDE) or similar NASA instructional events provided complimentary to GR owners would not, in and of itself, void the warranty. Warranty claims are evaluated on a case-by-case basis."

Absolutely correct. But still, if you accidentally back-shift it at redline and scatter it, it's going to be on you.

Yeah, a money shift is still a money shift, but as long as it's not a competitive/timed event (autocross is timed unless it's a test and tune event or something, so proceed with caution), you should be fine.

What, if anything, did you need to do to get this working? My dealer didn't know anything about the track day, and I am worried it may slip through the cracks if I leave it alone.

I still haven't received any information on my Track day. I got my car in late December.
