Toyota has reportedly released a "Light Package" for the GR Yaris in Japan. I wonder if the GR Corolla will be getting a similar package to this.

The package reportedly comes with (translated from Japanese):

• BBS 18-inch forged aluminum wheels
• Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050 tires (225/40R18)
• Carbon roof (marble pattern)
• Abolition of front and rear stabilizers
• Body color and coating technology change/abolished

Can someone help me understand this edition? Don’t all GRY come with the carbon roof anyways? And abolition of front rear stabilizers and coating technology? Makes it sound like it wont have sway bars or clear coat 🤣

It appears there are four grades of GR Yaris in Japan. And the RS is the least expensive one with [email protected],600rpm 1.5L NA, FWD and CVT. And the new RS "Light Package" is to make it even cheaper. I'm not sure any of you want this.

Carbon roof and forged rims are cheaper? The front rear stabilizer bars delete seems weird, but thats what it seems to say.

Correction! I was wrong about the “Light Package” being cheaper. I read materials again and it is 20kg lighter than the regular RS grade and costs 474,000yen more. The package‘s carbon roof is forged like the one for GRC Circuit Edition.

Sounds like no sway bars and basically bare metal
