Wheel Tire Land vehicle Vehicle Car

Apparently some of the Toyota executives have been hinting that there could be 2 new GR models coming. One in the form of a GR sedan and one that could be electrified in some way.

Toyota Motor North America Executive Vice President of Sales Bob Carter told Motor Trend to "stay tuned" when asked about the GR sedan. He didn't offer any additional details to provide any hints about the model.

The brand only offers four sedans in the US, so there aren't so many options for the GR model. The Corolla hatchback already has a sporty version, so expanding the offering to a four-door might make sense (rendering above). The Camry and Avalon already are available as mildly performance-focused TRD models, but a GR variant could add even more speed to them. Since it's only available in California, a hotter Mirai seems very unlikely because the market for the vehicle would be so small.

Toyota of America's Group Vice President Product Planning and Strategy Cooper Erickson also spoke with Motor Trend. He said the GR GT3 Concept (in the gallery below) is now entering development.

Erickson also talked about the GR brand's future. "Electrification coming to GR is something we're talking about. In the long term, what is the best way to deliver what GR is and what does electrification have to do with that," he said. Erickson noted it would be years rather than months before the arrival of these models.

It'd be interesting to see how they manage an EV GR. GR has so far meant incredibly well driving, very driver focused vehicles. With the apparent exception of the Mini Cooper EV, no EV could really be called a "drivers car" as much as a car meant to drive you.

I would love to see what they do for a GR Camry. My wife is obsessed with the Camry line (it's literally the only line of cars she has ever owned), and I would LOVE to convince her to buy something less boring to drive. Lol. Tried talking her into a Kona N, but it isn't a Camry.

Probably that MR2 man. That midship concept they revealed last year was the only GR badged product.

Ohhh. A well done EV MR2 could be amazing! My neighbor would almost 100% be at the dealer day of to buy one. He's a big MR2 fan.

Yeah that’s why i was saying if the Crown came as a sedan, that would be pretty cool. The Crown logo is pretty cool within itself.
Yup, Crown is supposed to be the top of line rwd sedan but name has been blasphemisized into a suv in markets other than japan.

They need to stop SUVing my cars like how some people on this forum need to stop Subaru WRXing my GR Corolla 😂
I'm putting a big boxy wing and bronze wheels on my blue wrapped grc. Also, I'm gonna put a big, central hood scoop on it.
