Toyota did offer the 2021 Corolla Hatchback Special Edition in Supersonic Red, which might make a Supersonic Red GR Core a real sleeper if people assume it's just one of those.I think if you aren’t going to do the Circuit Edition this is the color to get. It just pops a bit more than the white or black and I could be wrong but based on some googling it doesn’t seem to me like Toyota offers just anything in Supersonic Red. It seems to be reserved for higher end models. Don’t get me wrong I love the CE but I do wonder how well the carbon fiber roof and gloss black bits are going to age, especially if you’re planning on driving it a lot or live in a busy area like I do.
My wife's Prius Prime is Supersonic Red, and I believe you can get the Rav4 Prime in that color also. It is a beautiful Red when clean and waxed for sure.I think if you aren’t going to do the Circuit Edition this is the color to get. Awesome! I enjoy having a fast car that normies don’t know is fast. If I wanted to be seen and heard I’d get a Mustang or Camaro. I think the GR Corolla is juuuuuust the right amount of edge. It isn’t as overstyled as the last gen CTR (Jeremy Clarkson called it “the car they wouldn’t stop designing” and I think that sums it up perfectly) but it’s not subtle to a fault like a GTI (which I currently daily) or Golf R.Toyota did offer the 2021 Corolla Hatchback Special Edition in Supersonic Red, which might make a Supersonic Red GR Core a real sleeper if people assume it's just one of those.

I wish they’d offer a Core in Heavy Metal. I really dig the CE but I think the carbon fiber roof and gloss black exterior bits are going to look rough within a few years if you’re in a place that has a less than ideal climate or a lot of traffic. I’m in the DC area and as of now my plan is a core with the performance package for these reasons. If you’re going to keep the CE pristine/as a collector’s car then I get it, but I’m planning on driving the hell out of mine and don’t think the extra money for the CE is going to be worth it for my needs.daaaang. Thanks for the render!
meh, I’m in NE Ohio and I plan on driving my Circuit every day as my commuter/kid hauler even through the snow and salt (big reason why I wanted AWD on my next vehicle). I know that’ll make the undercarriage rusty and get a bunch of chips in my paint and plastic bits but I plan to fully enjoy this thing. I might actually spring for PPF, though just because of how chewed up my Mazda3 got after 3 years of commuting.I wish they’d offer a Core in Heavy Metal. Im not much of an amenities person to be honest. Before my base trim GTI I drove a beat to sh!t 04 Chevy truck that was a family hand me down (but hey, it was free!) and I’ve spent a decent amount of time in my aunt’s NA Miata. For me personally I find that that stuff kind of distracts from the drive/I won’t really have a use for the upgraded tech and even in winter I really only use my seat heaters a handful of times because I don’t get cold easily, as I’m a thick fellow who runs hot lol.meh, I’m in NE Ohio and I plan on driving my Circuit every day as my commuter/kid hauler even through the snow and salt (big reason why I wanted AWD on my next vehicle). That being said I don’t really get the whole babying your car so it’s nice for the next owner especially if you’re buying new and eating the depreciation. Might as well use it every day. Toyota held the GRC back for a year to make sure it was ready so I don’t have any qualms about using it for commuting and autocross and track days. I wanted the amenities of the fully loaded Circuit (without having to wait for a fully loaded Core) and the exclusive exterior/interior bits are the icing on the cake.
I’m glad they are making a less expensive model but don’t understand why on earth Toyota would make the LSDs optional. But maybe it’s like the WRX vs. STI thing.Im not much of an amenities person to be honest. For those reasons I think a core will suit me just fine…although I’d absolutely spring for the performance package with the upgraded limited slip diffs. I feel like they’ll be standard in a model year or two because everyone buying this car will want them.
I feel like it’s a cash grab and they’re basically only going to build a fully base core, a fully loaded core, and of course the circuit. Then over the following model years they’ll slowly make most of it standard. That way they can charge you more money for stuff you don’t actually need. Id also be willing to bet that a totally barebones core is going to be close enough to the N Hyundais, a mid tier WRX, and a mid tier GTI in price to give people shopping for those something to think about. I predict it’s going to come in right at $33,999 or $34,999 to be honest…and if that’s the case it’s an easy sell over those vehicles due to the AWD and places it above a loaded GR86 but below a 4 cylinder Zupr4.I’m glad they are making a less expensive model but don’t understand why on earth Toyota would make the LSDs optional. It's a pretty common color on the current gen Camry. They started with that very dark red for this gen, but from 2020 or so, I've seen more supersonic red than the flame red pearl. I expect that it is a bit like Barcelona Red where it's very bright in the sun and takes on darker tones when overcast.I absolutely love bright red cars, but the marketing material so far has made the super sonic a bit dark for my tastes. I cant wait to see one in person, but the pictures you posted have given me faith that it will look nice.
Total agree. The photographer didn't have the correct lighting or they over-adjusted the Photoshop color and tone levels for the official Super Sonic Red media photos.I absolutely love bright red cars, but the marketing material so far has made the super sonic a bit dark for my tastes.
