I saw a couple of GRC's with a final assembly point (per the window sticker) at the Isawa plant in Iwate Prefecture (and not the normal Toyota/Aichi), so it seems like not 100% of GRC's have the final bolt installed at least at Motomachi.
Where did you see these GRCs? That's the first I've heard of any other assembly location. Hard to believe Toyota has set up another build location for such low volume

It‘s not the car it’s the engine . Toyota has at least 7 factories across Japan to build cars and components. The G16E engine is not being limited to our cars though its initial design was for the Yaris and the Corolla. They are racing a Liquid Hydrogen version of it for research in Japan. They are talking about using it future Hybrid vehicles as well . Rumors of it being used in new version of a MR2 . It stands to reason they are increasing production of the engine and expanding on that they had to move from the Shimoyama plant . Jokes aside it does not take away from it. People whose engines came from the Shimoyama plant just want to feel special that it came from their plant first🤣 j/k guys.
We all have a special vehicle that’s 100% made in Japan , that is assembled in a very special factory. It does not mean all the components were made in that factory . Though per the sticker on my car it states all the parts were made in Japan!

This checks out if my assumption makes sense.

Looking at the spreadsheet for Canadian allocation tracker, starting from GRY and 23-24GRCs into Jan 2024, engine numbers were in the format 00##### and it had gone all the way from 0000000 to 0052783 for Vin#11733. The next Canadian car was Vin#11744 and it looks like it started a new format 5002024, 5002040, 5002162, etc. That changeover date was Feb 16, 2024 so it makes sense that it'd be a few engines leftover from Shimoyama.

So I suppose that if you have the engine number stamped 00#####, it's a Shimoyama engine, and if it's 50##### then it's the other plant.
Your theory is correct. The first digit denotes the plant building that engine type. Some plants use numbers; some use letters. This prevents duplicate serial numbers when 2 different plants are building the same engine at the same time. The A25 engine is built at like 10 different plants worldwide right now.

I understand those points. The poster was saying Toyota is assembling GRCs (not just engines) at a plant other than Motomachi. That's what I was questioning.

This was in the Southeast US. There were 3 on the lot, 1 was Toyota/Aichi and then two were similar to this (one a core, one a premium).
That's interesting because Isawa is pretty far from Aichi. I wonder if they aren't being routed to some other facility where the finishing touches are being completed. I'd be surprised if they moved the production line. I'm not even aware of a real vehicle plant for Toyota being in that region.

My wife's MINI had a Germany VIN even though the plant is in England. The regulation allows them to put a W vin since it was regionally close enough to Germany. You'll see all kinds of weird things when it comes to vehicle regs.

My bad I was looking at the post when I was tired😂 That Isawa point of origin sticker is interesting . Isawa is in Northern Japan

No problem. Been there, done that.

Yeah, and it's so far inland it makes zero sense if there is actually some full assembly being done there. I hope somebody with the scoop chimes in here.

I’m thinking maybe more than just tired.. lol 😂😂😂😞 jk.. I’m just still can’t believe I actually have one! lol
por que . 😂Pinch yourself it’s real🤣 I get the feeling though I felt that way right after I bought mine I cannot believe I actually bought it. It was one of two cars that loomed large on my hit list. One down one to go. Ya Lotus Emira I got my eyes on you. 😂

Dude, check the last six digits of your VIN. There's your answer.
Mine is 13,612th . Oh and that was on 4/24

I think I figured it out. So it’s the 13,475 GR built. But the 36 blue circuit addition Built. By the sticker in the window
Oh wow Ya have not seen a ton of Blue Circuit roll through in California either. It definitely looks like we will see more roll in the coming months. I know one of the reasons I moved on mine was after seeing the sales guy at Longo and him showing me Toyotas Internal allocation page showing me Heavy Metal Premiums had stopped being allocation a month and a half earlier. It was like they did a bunch of the Heavy Metals as well as Black and Ice Cap and some Red but much. if any of the Blue Circuits . I suspect we will start seeing a fair amount of them in the next few months here.

No. For reasons I don't understand, you wouldn't say what number of what that you were looking for, until now. Do the Circuits no longer get numbered badges?
yes they no longer have numbered badges . That was a 2023 thing oh and by the way North Hollywood Toyota has a Ice Cap Circuit for 44,995 on the Toyota website it’s number 11,605 so it’s been sitting on their lot at least since early tommid March which means they have to move it or Toyota fines them . Go get it someone this is a Chance to get a Circuit iin SoCal for $1700 under msrp

correected!
