I hadn't seen anyone that had ordered the fender shrouds from Racer X Fabrication but I did, and I love the look of them. They come in red or black and replace the plain looking OEM plastic piece.

Just a cosmetic mod. It does look much better than the cheap plastic OEM pieces. Sometimes a little visual bling is nice. People do that on other parts all the time.
There are always many different mods that are only a cosmetic mod. Why is that so hard to understand? People do that with dress up bolt kits, CF pieces, and many other things. People sure loved the way it looked at cars and coffee today.
Well, if you've ever removed the stock ones, they get all janked-up. On an SE hatch, I pulled one to run an amp power wire and had to order a new one for the customer. (I coulda glued it, but that's bad business.)
Would I buy these for a GR? No, but only because the battery is out back...
@JimsGarageToys said there's a tricky way of getting the stock one out. I thought he would post a video by now. I get my shrouds Friday. I hope the install goes well...
Well there are a lot of clips under the hood so I'm not sure. If you look at my video you could tell me that better. It's a weird type of clip that I've never seen before.
by themselves, these fender shrouds look out of place. But with your red aftermarket cooling plate, they do fit in very nicely even if the color is slightly off.
Installed mine yesterday, the fasteners were a bit of a hassle but not bad. I also added a bit of vinyl to the fuse box cover for the hell of it. See if it lasts. Going back and forth on the Tanabe cooling plate now to make it complete, leaning towards a yes.
