I have owned a few of the Honda S-series sports cars from the 1960's over the years. This 1968 S800 Coupe was the most recent. 800cc's of twin cam raw horsepower! The original owner painted it orange to match his Mach1 Mustang. It was moved on to a new home about 10yrs ago. Amazing machines (especially for the time) the original S-series were.

I've been super interested in kei cars recently, so here's a couple cool keis available at a local importer. First, Suzuki Cervo mode SR turbo. The Cervo Mode turbo is basically just a re-skinned (IMO slightly uglier) version of the more common Suzuki Alto works, offering a fwd or AWD turbocharged 3-cylinder which was available in several other keis around that time. This example is AWD.

The second is a Daihatsu Mira TR-XX Avanzato R. It was also available fwd or awd, most TR-XX's came with a turbocharged 3-cylinder but the Avanzato R got a turbo 4-cylinder. This example is FWD

For your consideration, two Mitsubishi Galants.

Obscure? How are Mitsubishi Galants obscure? Well, take a look at the first one. What's that? An AMG badge? Who would put an AMG badge on a Mitsubishi Galant? AMG would. It's the only Japanese car tuned by AMG. It puts out 168 hp and 141 lb-ft of torque and redlines at 8000 RPM. It's also widebodied. Unlike the VR4 though, it’s still FWD but it still has a 5-speed manual.

What about the second one? Nice GT-R style hood and a body kit on the, arguably, ugliest generation of Galant. Except this is the TMR 380. Team Mitsubishi Ralliart made this for the Australian market, and as we've learned, tuner cars made for Australia are nuts. Probably to run away from giant spiders or something. Powered by a supercharged 3.8 V6 putting out 310 HP and 326 lb-ft of torque all through the front wheels.
