Wheel Car Tire Land vehicle Vehicle

Everyone has that special car they're never getting rid of or one that they wish they kept. My uncle loaned my his Supra (similar to this one) to take car of while he went overseas for a few months for work. It was the car that solidified my love of JDM cars. I bought it off him when he returned it and had it for a couple of years before reluctantly selling it.

What's the best car or the favorite car you've owned?

Mine is my current car, seen in my avatar. 2014 Focus ST. Absolute blast to drive.

I wish I still had a picture of it, but I had a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2. They weren't fast or even particularly sporty, but it's what I learned to drive a manual with, and I loved the crap out of that car. I was incredibly sad when it got totaled.

Wide body, carbon roof, STI swapped 2.5RS Coupe. It was my daily for about 4 years before it became the project car, and then I ended up selling it during a divorce literally within days of "finishing" it. I don't even have a good picture of it. It went to a good friend who always says it's mine whenever I want it back.

Before the swap / wide body install. Even when slow it was still my favorite car.

Brooo!!! 🔥🔥 Great looking car, I think I'm gonna hit up ATD on 4/27 once winter finally leaves. Be dope to see you out there 🍻
I actually was trying to get out there for work on 4/27! My company is releasing a new product in a couple of weeks and I was hoping to get an extra body out there to help film some b-roll footage of this STI on the track.

2017 GTI with Stage I APR ECU flash. The car has been a blast to drive, but I'm looking forward to the GR. For what it is, the DSG is an amazing transmission, but there's many a day I wish I'd gone for the manual.

I'm going to have to search for pics.. but.. for me it was probably an 88 Chrysler Conquest TSi. Not because it was an outstanding car or anything.. but because it cost me $900 and I won autocrosses with it, rallycross with it, jumped it, did wonderfully good burnouts with it, had it catch on fire while driving, spun a bearing while driving (nothing like 17psi of boost continuously to maintain 40mph while the engine was seizing up), etc.

Then parted it out for twice what I paid for it.

But then.. I love beaters.

I also autocrossed (and did very well with) an old Isuzu pickup, a mercury grand marquis and many other oddballs.. I miss them all more than my expensive powerful/fun/etc cars I've had.

I've only owned a couple cars, but here's my current, a 2012 Mazdaspeed 3. I use it for everything, daily driving in all weather as well as several track events each year. I've even shoved my Grom in back a couple of times. It's been a pretty solid car, even being surprisingly reliable so far.

The GR Corolla should be better in pretty much every way, although the 'Speed3 does have the advantage of already being heavily used: I am willing to drive it to its limits on track, don't feel terrible driving in salty Ohio winter weather, and getting the occasional rock chip or door ding sucks but doesn't ruin my day. So if I do get my hands on a GR Corolla I may keep it for daily/winter/track use with the Corolla as a weekend car, or may swap for a designated winter beater.
