I saw there was another thread but it was just about rumors.

Here‘s the official announcement:

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR) unveiled a partially upgraded GR Corolla today and announced that orders are now being accepted at Toyota vehicle dealers across Japan, with sales to commence on November 3.

Improvements
  1. Leveraging lessons learned from competing in Japan's Super Taikyu Series, the car's fundamental performance has been enhanced so that it can be put to the test in evermore demanding settings.
    • The body structure has been reinforced to endure vertical and lateral g-forces that are more intense than those typically generated at circuits in Japan.
    • To maintain stable engine output even during prolonged full-throttle driving, a cool air duct has been added to reduce the intake-air temperature during high-load driving.
  2. The JBL Premium Sound System (factory-installed option) has been improved by equipping the car with an Active Sound Control system and installing a subwoofer in the luggage compartment to enhance comfort for greater enjoyment of everyday driving and create burgling and other sounds that evoke the feeling of motorsports.
  3. The supply system for the Japanese-market model has been revised to enable delivery to as many customers as possible.

The article does say for the Japan market but still would think most of this would be similar to what the USDM/CDM would get. The software update is the one I'm curious about. I'm sure there are videos comparing the driving modes so need to search that out but also want to see how people like or just tune instead. If you have to pay for that software update then would probably be a pass.

LOL, 2 things:

"burgling" - Per M-W:
Burgle (burgled; burgling; burgles)
: to break into and steal from (a home, business, etc.) : burglarize

I'm not sure that I want my GR "burgling" anything. Or are these just sounds like breaking glass and gunfire?

Also, if you opt for the "re-programming" does it come with a free P2C90 code that '25 and later owners can't get rid of?

No thanks to all of it.

Apparently the new upper trim cars in JP are getting the Morizo upgrades (seats, alcantara items, red belts) as standard:

I hate it for touch surfaces because sweat and oils from hands/arms ruin it over time, and it's a pain to clean in general. I dont mind it on seats and items you dont touch though.

Am I crazy or is that a new/different gray color in the picture? Unless its white and it's just hard to tell due to the pixelation/low resolution of the photo. Almost looks like a Nardo Gray. I'm interested in what has been strengthened, I'm guessing these are in addition to the MY25 changes? ACS and a subwoofer are cool, but not fake piped in engine audio! I'm guessing that's what they mean by "evoking the feeling of motorsports". I'm already driving a car that massively evokes the feeling and joys of motorsport, I don't need some BS sound to remind me lol. Not crazy amazing changes, but little things go a long way.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, it appears to be the same white on closer inspection but I’m still not sure.

Also, there’s this pic where they have two white cars which kind of indicates they are maybe different white colors?

But I can’t tell a difference. So much for a deep blue (or any actual color besides red) like some of us were hoping. I guess I’m keeping my ‘25.

I was also really hoping for a full cold air intake (I.e. make cool noises intake) but a cool air duct is something. It probably won’t sound any cooler though.

An engine tune to increase the torque is awesome if it ever comes to the USDM GRs but man I don't want to lose my 30:70 rear.
I could be mistaken, because the wording is incredibly confusing, but it sounds like there will still be a 30:70 mode in there somewhere. :)

The upgrade program will also change the GR-FOUR control system, in which the hitherto 30:70 front / rear driving force distribution "REAR" mode will be replaced by a 50:50 front / rear driving force distribution "GRAVEL" mode, and the "TRACK" mode, which has been hitherto fixed at 50:50 front / rear driving force distribution, will become variable, enabling adjustments ranging from 60:40 front / rear to 30:70 front / rear. Program availability is scheduled to start in spring 2026, with details, including pricing, to be announced as soon as they are set.”

for 2025 they had both whites we've had. the common white color and that metallic flake white on the Morizo, which are two separate paint codes. so that pic is old, from last year (MY25)

Edit: Nevermind, this seems like a software update for current GR Corolla Owners

For current GR Corolla owners, a software-inclusive upgrade program is now being developed.

The upgrade program, which will apply to the 2023 GR Corolla,

I thought this control system was already updated on the 2025s. Why does it seem like this change is new for 2026?

GR-FOUR AWD system with three selectable power settings—torque distribution (front:rear): Normal (60:40), Track (60:40-30:70), and Gravel (50:50)

I find it kind of surprising that they would add more body rigidity since the 25MY already has that.... I will add the intake someday but so far loving my 25MY i dont see any significant reason to get a 26MY unless it has a 400hp 4cyl  edit after reading the article adding more adhesive would not slow down production at all or have to change much during assembly so its going to be more rigid which is cool. I dont think ill be pulling my interior to add that though....

Yeah, that's not worth losing and neither is the wheel IMO lol (guess im getting old)

I turn mine on when it's below ~50, whether or not I'm a cat (dislike cats tho, so that would be ironic).

Google says, "most people turn on their heated seats when the outdoor temperature drops to around 45-50°F (7-10°C) or lower"
