Upgrading the stock horn to something with some real bite sounds like a fun idea, especially if you're tired of sounding like a sleepy kitten!

I'm not sure about a "blatantly loud" horn though. Safety is important, but you also don't want to deafen everyone on the road. Maybe there's a happy medium – a horn that gets attention without giving someone a heart attack.

Absolutely, which is why there's dB limits on horns. They need to be loud however, because most people drive around with their windows up, music on, conversations, road noise, phone calls, fidgeting with the radio or texting, etc. A loud horn in a quiet environment is frightening, but out on the road it'll only sound a little louder than a normal horn. The right tone helps it get attention, which is the goal after all.
