Start with Carvana. They’ll give you a totally painless offer in about a minute. That gives you a floor. I’ve found they’re usually a few thousand above dealer trade and a few thousand below private sale. But it’s a real offer and a useful data point.

The nice thing about Carvana is they give you a check, right on the spot, and their prices are often decent (sometimes even surprisingly high). There's no haggle. No games. It just is what it is. It largely comes down to your tolerance to deal with the hassle of a private sale.

Anyway, like I said, it's a good data point no matter what.

 

What I struggle with is why anyone would BUY a car from them....but, I'm old.

 

I know you mentioned you don't want to get flamed, but I'm certain we can keep a civil discussion, most owners on this forum are pretty mature. If you're on the fence some opinions from others might help you feel more confident in a decision one way or the other. Are you concerned about possible issues or is something else catching your eye?

I’m might interested. New seems to go for $3k ish below msrp. Oakland has a 2025 CPO with 800 miles for $44k. $40k sounds right for private party sale.
