New here, but was considering joining since I've been eyeing the new Toyota Corolla GR. I was pretty active in the mkseven fourms and I hope to become pretty active here as well.

I currently own a mk7 gti, and wanted to purchase a mk8, but currently there are none in stock and I'm not sure when more will come in production to the U.S. So, I've decided to go with a different purchase with hopefully being one of the first few people to buy a brand new GR Corolla! I'm a pretty big modern hatch back fan, so naturally I fell in love with the Corolla when it came out. Now that I heard about the GR, I am very interested in purchasing one either this year or next year! Then I'll be a proud VW/Toyota owner. 😁

My goals with my gti is to make it more of a race car when I purchase the GR Corolla and make the Corolla either the daily or weekend car. :)

Anyways, hope to be more active here soon!

Welcome! I've got a buddy with a Mk4 and a mk7 who's considering ditching his dream of a mk8 R for a GRC. Granted, he's a VW fanboi, and doesn't want to drive a manual anymore, so I get the feeling he probably won't.

Welcome!! I own an MK6 GTI with FBO and it is a treat to drive. I am keeping it as my winter beater and having my GRC as my summer daily. I hope you got your name on the list!!

Nice, the mk8R is going to be a really nice car if he decides to get one. Definitely a step up from the mk7. The DCTs are always super reactive.

That's my goal! I intend to go by a Vegas dealer soon and hopefully put down a deposit. By now they should definitely have some news about the GRC coming here.

If you haven't put your name down already, you may be a little too late. You may have to go on the list for the 2024 model year.

So apparently, Vegas dealers haven't even started doing deposits yet. They're still waiting on the green light so we can put a deposit down. Which is sort of interesting... Another thing is that certain dealerships won't even allow you to put a deposit down unless if you're in the specified Zip code in NV. 🤔

All 3 of the dealers I'm working with have done the same. They won't take my deposit until they have an allocation.
