In the era of turbocharged cars, hybrids and ev's, I never thought I'd hear something so F1ish again.
The high revving, high pitched whale of this naturally aspirated engine in the new Z06, reminds me of an old school Ferrari.
Unfortunately it doesn't look near as good as a Ferrari.
However, I would have put a deposit down on a new Z06, if it came with a proper manual transmission a la Porsche GT3.
I'd love to have this engine in the new Lotus Emira with a proper manual transmission, now that would be special.

There’s 2 of these in my apartment complex that are quality inspection vehicles that are being driven by engineers (the Z is built in the city I live in) . I’ve talked to one of them and I can attest for how good it sounds in person)

I second your opinion on the looks. Very excited to see/hear another American made car utilize a FPC, but man the C8 already looks dated 😞

Lol. James has been hanging around here too much. Said "big Wang".

What am amazing powerplant.

Im still on the fence about them going mid engine, because it transformed the Vette into a different classification of car. But maybe GM was really wanting a stake in that supercar market.

It’s a great achievement and I’m happy for GM. And happy for me. Zero interest in automatics of any kind. I’m thankful there is no 6MT or 7MT, and sad at the same time. In Z06 or Z07 trim with a manual, oh my.

I'm with you, give me a manual Z06, with that screaming NA engine....yeah baby.🤯
And make it a little more exotic looking, not so many shape edges, a la Ferrari.

Closest you'll get to that is the GT350R, a traditional coupe rather than a mid engine exotic. Would recommend 🤘

I demoed 3 stock GT350's about 2 months ago, and they were Sublime.
Loved everything about it, especially the exhaust note, one if the sweetest ever created.
Unfortunately, after doing some research, I concluded that with all the engine problems and failures, purchasing one was too big a risk.
Shame because overall it was one if the most satisfying vehicles I've ever had the pleasure of driving.
Manual 991 GT3 and 991 & 992 GT4's being the three other cars I've test driven and long for.
The only real downside to manual Porsche GT cars is the incredibly tall gearing.
You can easily surpass 80 mph in second gear, meaning on public roads there is not much need to change gears, which to me is the fun part of owning a manual.

Facts, I expected mine to pop any second. It wouldn't be wise to own one without a warranty, the Voodoo was like $24k or so to replace. Curious to see how Chevy addresses V8 FPC issues, reliability isn't really their forte.
