Here's the announcement from Acura. 300 horsepower, manual transmission and a limited slip diff is always a good combo.

Acura today confirmed the development of a high-performance Integra Type S, set to join the lineup for the 2024 model year. Promising ultimate street performance and driver engagement, the Integra Type S will be powered by a high-revving 2.0-liter VTEC turbocharged engine producing over 300 horsepower and paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential. More details to be shared closer to launch.
I'll be watching this one. Should be a great car.

IDK how I feel about this one... Doesn't seem like much to differentiate it from CTR. And you know it will be priced damn near $50k.
Would be nice to see it be AWD, and they should have bored out the K20 to a 2.2L or used the K24 and boosted it. The integra was always known to have a slightly larger engine than the civic, so that's a bit of a letdown.
If it were AWD, I would consider it as an alternative to a GRC. But FWD, same CTR motor, heavier, and $50k? I'll pass ..

Just seems like a luxury CTR and the only differences per se are the things people didn’t like on the CTR. Lol

For example, exhaust is louder, doesn’t have the “tacked on” wing. At least Honda guys can relax a little bit knowing they have 2 options.

Probably will end up being cheaper than a CTR, as I don't see the type S having all the ADM's the CTR has.

Hm... I'm not against a tad more luxurious CTR. Give me the same bucket seats but maybe... wrapped in leather or some carbon fiber???

Could be a very nice combo. Same widebody treatment, duckbill spoiler???

I could be intrigued, regardless the more options the better, which means ADM battles become less and less when you have competitors fighting for the same small pool of enthusiasts who would buy these cars.

Type s integra confirmed manual only but another mag states still rumors of dct.
This is the worst Integra ever built, and the surcharge Acura wants for their version of the Civic is laughable. Putting a better engine into it doesn't change that.

Hard pass.

I've always liked the idea of these "luxury" sleepers. GR powered Lexus UX would be pretty interesting.
I'm guessing adjustable dampers only major difference.
^The CTR has adjustable dampers.

My wife's civic si has muted red cloth seats that are murder to keep clean. The bright red type R seats and the red carpet will be impossible to keep clean if its a daily driver. My wife doesn't like the wing on the type R and realistically they will probably be similarly priced after dealer markup. The old type r always had dealer mark up and that was before all this craziness so it will be very rare to find one at msrp.

I think it'll do fine in the market.

Acura dropped a press release this morning with a couple teaser images for the Type S, which they're saying will debut at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach (makes sense!).

The big news is that the Integra will get 5 extra horsepower than the FL5 Civic Type-R. No doubt that power advantage will get eaten by the increased weight of the Acura over the Civic (torque is the same 310 lb-ft), but I wonder if the Civic will get that same power increase for next year.

I waunt it. I wonder what the pricing will be on these. Not that I can afford anything over $50k lol.

I would figure at least 50k if the type r is 43ish. Before markups of course

Well, good thing I'm happy with my GRC for now. I just think a bit more luxury would be super nice to have. Maybe in a few years when my name comes up for a special edition GRC at my dealer. It'll be a tough decision if I can get a Type S for a little more.

I really like wheel arches. What are the odds that the release is just another camo’ed car like with the fl5

That sounds about right. There's about a 12% increase between the Integra and a comparable Civic currently. Going off that increase, the Integra Type S might even be right under $50k.

Anyone else remember when the ITR had considerably more power than the CTR?

Anyone? Just me?
